That was pretty much the worst type of game to see as a leafs fan. Our star player starts something that he clearly couldnt finish. The team then proceeds to run around looking to hurt someone, while falling flat on their face. One of the teams best players get injured, and leafs get outplayed to the point that its a 4 nothing shut out. Leafs have been playing a game of good goal tending and timely scoring. Just poor team play in between, and it finally caught up to them.

pretty much sums it up.

I am kind of glad it happened. The Leafs were winning, but in an unsustainable way. I am not referring to Corsi or Fenwick. It is simpler than that, you don't give up mid 30's to 40+ shots a night and expect to win consistently.

This is hopefully a wakeup call. The Leaf embarassed themselves. Even a key player being injured may help make them "tougher".

They need to come out and play a hard-nosed tight defensive game and quit believing they are as good as their record.
