both were reactionary sticking out of limbs at the last second when the players were going to miss their initial checks.....

Swinging a stick at someone's head could be argued as reactionary under the right circumstances.

dude one had way more intent on the magical intent-o-meter. You always have to consider the intent-o-meter when reviewing these things.

Huh.

Scratch the picks, and I, for one, wish the Flyers would do that.

Seeing as how Mats doesn't play hockey anymore it would probably be assault based on the local laws.

You were pretty enraged about intent when Scott went after Kessel weren't you?

If the Leafs continue to get top goaltending, they should be able to be ok until saint Bozak returns.

As Kassian claimed when he knocked Gagner out for a couple of months... didn't see canuck fans saying crap Kassian should get 10 games

not in the sense of thinking the league should do anything but in the sense I believed Scott to be a complete and utter wussy yes.

You won't find a lot of sympathy from Canuck fans towards Bolland. He has tried to injure a few Canucks when he was a Hawk. He slew footed Daniel Sedin going into the boards ,and when he came back off his first game back from a concusion he elbowed a Canuck player in the head.

As they say payback is a Bittch

Ok payback is what it looked like to me too

so if lupul hits sedin in the chest with the elbow its okay???
- jribout

I wouldn't say "okay" but most agree BETTER. Using an elbow in almost any way is stupid. But if you are going to get hit by it, I will take chest over head.

I guess Lupul' hit would just have been payback for the Sedin's check from behind earlier in the game though....

After all they have a history of hitting from behind... see the Sharks in the playoffs

- jribout

I guess, but then Lupul is fair game after that for his actions . Correct?

Yes, and no.

For me personally, just speaking for myself, I think the Flyers look totally different if they had two puckmovers who could skate, one who is young and one who is experienced.

Yeah, I realize that we'd basically be saying we traded JVR and Luke Schenn for J-M Liles, but I don't really care how it looks, you know? We're so slow on the back end, and have such horrible puck skills, I honestly wish someone from the Flyers would simply step up and say "Yeah, we are so deficient in this area, we have to do something about this, no matter how it looks on the surface."

The Flyers have enough defensive defensemen to cover for Gardiner and Liles' mistakes or growing pains, and yeah, I know Brayden Schenn could go on to be a 60-point centerman.

But we've got centers. We don't have guys who can move the puck out of our end, and we literally have one guy -- seriously, one freaking guy -- who can actually carry it out of our end more than twice a game.

So yeah. We're desperate. Because no matter what, we're going to be awful until we get that back end fixed, and make no mistake, Toronto is one of but a handful of teams who has the kind of personnel we need.

check the still shot in the article... lupul's elbow is only shoulder high and Sedin is slightly bent over..... hardly a shot to the head

He hits him with the elbow in the shoulder pad - no penalty - who says he was aiming for his head, he was trying to stop him from getting to the front of the net. It's a small thing to actually be talking about. I've watched the play over and over because of all the vagina dripping going on. I don't see a penalty or intent?

agree there is zero intent to elbow in the head... but (frank) winning helped by 2 goals that never should have been isn't enough..... they need to find reasons to make the leafs look worse.... constant female doging about leafs this leafs that but we get half of our attention from other fan bases......
