i think we have the prospect stock pile for lines 2.5 through 5 and dmen in 2nd pairing and down.. now we need the top end talent.. we have a good amount of depth, we have NO top end talent. We do not have 1 player that would be on a real contenders top line.. and i don't think we have a prospect that will be there in the next 10 years either

Armia, Ristolainen, Zadorov...
All top line/ top pair guys

I want to see what Grigorenko will do with a new coach
Because he certainly has the talent, an I thought looked good when he was allowed to play with real linemates in the Florida & Tampa games
Basically, I'm not giving up on him yet

Foligno & Girgensons might not be top line talent, but I think they can got on a line with top talent

I think he needs to be in goal the next time the sabres play the flyers.

The only goalie that ever played for the Sabres that could be tough enough to handle Emery would have been Steve Shields. Not to mention he was a big dude

Maybe he told the coach to go F himself in a mono tone sort of way.

Not that suprised of he does. Made some bad defensive plays and still thinks he's a finesse forward at times

Nice collection of penalties in one game for a goalie.

Things flew off the rail quickly for Hackett in that game. Not only did he give up all five goals in a 5-1 Crunch win, but his composure melted away. He was called for roughing, diving and unsportsmanlike conduct minors and, finally, a game misconduct for unsportsmanlike conduct.

That penalty haul is virtually unheard of for a goalie

Hackett is like the Matt barnaby of goalies.

I know we are all hoping to get McDavid but as you saw this year the Lottery prevents a sure thing. if we are sucking to get McDavid and then the lottery does not go in our favor we are effed.

Get as much young talent as you can on this team, and if by chance you win the lottery you get McDavid the next "great one", and if you dont, you still have a young core group that is progressing together.

Would anyone be against trading Luke Adam to the Laffs.....

@DarrenDreger 15m
Surprise to know one, the Maple Leafs are in the market for a forward, preferably a centre. Not a lot available right now.

Why can't we give him another go here? What do we have to lose?

I doubt they would want him. They're a speed team and he's one of the slowest players I've ever seen.

How do you figure. The conversation went as follows. We avoid getting talent to ensure we end up with the worst record in hockey in 2015. The Sabres lose out on the lottery and don't get McDavid. I cant think of a more effed scenario.

IMO this is the Sabres plan, fail this season, draft Reinhart, don't sign any free agents. Hopefully fail next season and get McDavid, have 2 young stud centers, a young blossoming defense, maybe another goalie and then offer Pat Kane 10 mil a year to play here

If we are serious in hoping to get McDavid then we would be in the top 3, maybe 4 so if we don't get McDavid we will not be "effed" if we get a top 3 or 4 pick, especially with our top 2 pick this year.

I just don't like it due to the fact that the lottery is not a sure thing. We could finish 40 points worse than the second last place team and still lose out.

Yea, but you play the odds. If you're gonna be bad, be really bad next year. If we end up with 1 of McDavid or Reinhart, I will be satisfied with sucking for the next few years.

Zads and risto might be there but we need more development to be sure. I can't annoit armia without seeing one shift out of him. Maybe he has the tools but that is yet to be seen.

Grigs is a big question. With a different coach I think it will be possible, but he needs more drive and a different scenario.

The rest are all depth players. 2nd through 4th line players.

Wasn't he rookie of the yer before his last stint in buffalo? I think you have to tear it up to be ROY as well and that didn't translate. He is slower than hodge and a clumsy skater too.

Yea he was. I don't think his talent dissapeared though. Not saying he for sure will be a good NHL'er or anything but his career isnt over like I thought it was last year

Damn I forgot lighting up the AHL translates to NHL success. Thats probably why the league is lighting up the lines trying to pry this stud out of rochester.

Cody is slow send him down. Tank for McDavid because the draft is literally structured to allow teams to lose out and guarantee themselves a number one pick..oh wait no? Thats not how it works.

Screw this season and any rebuilding. Connor McDavid is the be all end all for this team.

No Connor McJesus=no cup for Tyler Myers to drink out of in his new mc-mansion in North Buffalo so he can show up to camp out of shape again. But its ok he's getting better. After he learns how to show up prepared Rolston is going to show him how to use the new velcro straps the team got for his skates.

That would be some good timing. We might be able to get away with giving him a raise w/o having to spend 10 Mil/year.
However, Even he might be reluctant to come play for his hometown team unless we look a lot better in 2 years...

No it doesn't. But if you can't preform in the AHL then chances are you can't in the NHL. And are you drunk or just mad at something ?
