i think we have the prospect stock pile for lines 2.5 through 5 and dmen in 2nd pairing and down.. now we need the top end talent.. we have a good amount of depth, we have NO top end talent. We do not have 1 player that would be on a real contenders top line.. and i don't think we have a prospect that will be there in the next 10 years either
- IndianaSabresFan

Believe me I know we need top end talent. I just cant think like the people who say dont bring more talent to this team becasue we dont want to srew our chances of getting McDavid.

I understand that, but I also dont believe it is necessary. Having one great player does not make a team. You need a straong balance from top to bottom. Sidney Crosby only has one cup, and he is considered the greatest player since Gretzky.

Get as much good talent top to bottom on this team. Regarldess of what it costs draft stock wise.

To me if you used every pick as of today and traded for a dominating top line id be fine not having a draft pick this year or next. I want Mcdavid just as much as the next guy but its not a sure thing to get him

Discuss? I'll start with Weber=

Highlighted Ennis and Foligno cuz they're the only ones on the bottom list and not on the top one (I know Vanek is as well but I left him out cuz...you know).

Ehrhoff and Myers makes sense. 2 most ice time. Weber is just awful.

It wasn't much of a risk with Briere though. Gratton was useless here, kind of like someone else we know Stafford...hmmm you may be on to something here

Yea but Darcy didn't hold onto Gratton until it was too late. Gratton was that big prototypical center that every GM thought they could develope, unfortunately Staff infection doesnt have that possible 'It" factor teams will continue to take chances on

If most of what I hear its both teams giving up on that player and became a ole fashion hockey trade

Agreed. Even with a potential 1st overall this season.....improved D corps and forwards...if Miller is gone next season we could struggle just as much. I like Enroth but he has gotten nowhere close to the workload to judge his starting potential through an 82 game season.

Enroth is either really good or really bad it seems. I wonder if he can handle a 50 game season.

Im fine signing a decent goalie and just working with a tandem for the next couple of seasons to be honest. Works for the rest of the league nowadays

I never said he cant but there is no way of telling if he can handle the workload as it stands. Its a talented goalie and has shown he belongs. Hes good not great.

Or just have the Sabres play the Sabres. Could build confidence and get a couple wins too.

An option I guess. It would be nice to get some positive news on his development however. His play is nothing to get excited about.

Nice collection of penalties in one game for a goalie.

Things flew off the rail quickly for Hackett in that game. Not only did he give up all five goals in a 5-1 Crunch win, but his composure melted away. He was called for roughing, diving and unsportsmanlike conduct minors and, finally, a game misconduct for unsportsmanlike conduct.

That penalty haul is virtually unheard of for a goalie

Surprised he didn't snap a deuce on the ice to top it all off...

He should have been pulled sooner. Sounds like the Coach let him hang when he was struggling. I could be wrong but.....
