He'd have to sign a contract and clear waivers, but he does have NHL experience.
Wow are we ever thin at center. McKegg's not doing much, better this year, but not exactly tearing it up down there.
Where's Colborne? - gravyface
(frank) Colborne. He was (frank)in horrible. |

Gardiner isnt waiver exempt. Meaning he isnt going to get sent down to the AHL.
Meaning HH will be gone forever |

I don't understand people saying Kessel turtled? Burrows threw him to the ground and won the fight... |

I think you gotta keep gunnar and phaneuf together. Leave franson with reilly and try out the new pairing of Gardiner + Fraser |

I consider any embellishment a dive. And there was plenty and you know it. - Arctic_AARDVARK
The Canucks have perfected drawing boarding penalties.
Turning into vulnerable positions seems to be the gameplan.
McClaren belongs in the ECHL.
Leafs stunk.
Lets all move on.

tanev dive on lupul penalty was pretty (frank)ing sad. Barely touched him, and tanev had his legs wrapped around lupul's.
or just watch any random shift for burrows. - Badge
Burrows was hooked on a breakaway late in the game and no call... Leafs lost there cool early and deserved to be shorthanded.
Canucks are the much better team, end of story. |

So the center of the hockey world can watch it instead of having to stay up late?
It's not our fault our team is relevant. Unlike the Casucks. - jbold

If it was so meaningless to the leafs then why change the start time (to the leafs advantage)? OK, that's a market share thing...
If it was meaningless then why did the leaf players lose their cool and get caught up in the emotion? It was an important national game even if you don't want to admit it to yourself. Go ahead and dismiss the loss as meaningless. But if you do you will be ignoring some telling statistics (like 47 shots against). - bloatedmosquito
Yes, it was an important national game for Canuck fans...leafs fans not so much....as I said we were 2 for 2 on a western road trip sitting on the top of the conference...2 outta 3 is fine in my books...47 shots against is a bad statistic but know what's worse...1 for 8 on the pp |

Gardiner for Paul Statsny - CarlitoBrigante
Given the way Stastny is playing, I don't think Colorado would trade him for all the beer and redheads on the planet.
Unless your post was rhetorical, in which case, don't mind me. |

6'5 center floating around being soft - jbold
I was half-joking, but we are really thin up the middle. Time to convert some of the surplus on defense into roster players and prospects (depth).
I wouldn't be upset to see Gardiner go to be honest. |

Im confused here.. whos the pimp and whose the prostitute? You've been borderline trolling for a while now. Your cocky arrogance is very detectable but you lace it with the odd hockey comment. |

Well, if that makes the game better for all of the leafs fans out there, don't forget the hit totals they won that too. |

no game is meaningless... but much like when kids are presented participating trophies some rewards are more meaningful than others.
I can imagine that last night's game was very meaningful for the Vancouver fans in particular. They had to give up their afternoon because the other team playing exists in a time zone that is more significant to the rest of the country - that would annoy the hell out of me - if I were in their shoes. Bure's retirement ceremony was nicely done, except for Hughson who really just continues to make a fool of himself.... which was unfortunate because I feel it distracted from good event.
But mich like Hughson's meandering commentary during the Bure ceremony, just because the announcers routinely tell you how good the team is playing - doesn't make it so.
Canucks clearly outplayed the Leafs yesterday - no question - but they definitely had help in doing so. And the "super powerplay" with "all that talent" really didn't do much - going what was it 1-7 or 1-8 including a full two minute 2 man advantage.
I would expect that the Canucks were happy with the win - why wouldn't they be. But there were a lot of things that went in their favor in that game, - I would think there would be a little concern amongst the wet-headed faithful - although Hughson and Simpson seemed to think all was well so I guess that's all you'll need to hear. |
