Canuck fans wrote the book on that.

Only classless thing I see here is one team getting beat by the other and blaming it on everything else other then the fact they were out played. Seems like poor sportsmanship and whining.
- rune_74

The only thing you see is the inside of your own anus. No one is saying the Leafs outplayed them.

Lets make this simple....it was a non conference, non divisional game ending a road trip that they already had won 2 of 2 and were first in the conference, Vancouver needed the win just to stay in the top 8

If it was so meaningless to the leafs then why change the start time (to the leafs advantage)? OK, that's a market share thing...
If it was meaningless then why did the leaf players lose their cool and get caught up in the emotion? It was an important national game even if you don't want to admit it to yourself. Go ahead and dismiss the loss as meaningless. But if you do you will be ignoring some telling statistics (like 47 shots against).

So the center of the hockey world can watch it instead of having to stay up late?

It's not our fault our team is relevant. Unlike the Casucks.

Just let the nihilistic leafs fans vent FFS. You just love kicking them while they are down. Most of us are level headed and will discuss hockey with you.

I say Smithson. Times are desperate but I can't imagine moving JVR to center is the best course of action.

I agree with this.
One of the reasons the canucks are able to play with Chicago (and other elite teams) is that opponents get caught up in the emotion of the game. On paper the elite teams should kill us but the canucks use their poor reputation to their advantage.
I think that's smart hockey.

unfortunately to a large degree you are correct.... until the playoffs when the little cheap stuff doesn't get called (largely)... and we know how that works out for the Canucks.

the outcome of last nights games was obvious about 3-4 minutes in, Kadri gets held in the offensive zone, no call... makes virtually the identical play in the defensive zone - gets called.

Ranger gets hit from behind - no call - and returns the favor - gets called.

There was no way the Canucks were losing that one last night, even the offside calls were getting Kessel annoyed, and he just doesn't get that bothered about stuff like that.

There's no question that the Leafs started that game asleep and played horribly for the first 10-12 minutes or so. No question. But there's also no question that virtually no NHL game should have that kind of disparity in penalties called, and if you take the one "score sheet balancer" that were called near the end of the third out of the equation the penalty count was absurd 9-2 or something in that direction.

Officiating dictated the momentum in that game, and the announcers commenting on how the Sedins played 22+ minutes and how great that is... well probably 10-12 minutes of that was on the power play... the entire thing was strange.. the same announcers indicating that is was a "weird game"...

yes, yes it was weird. is there any wonder why?

McLaren boarding? please - I guess boarding is now the call when a player stupidly attempts to avoid being taken into the boards and stops short then gets run over.

tanev dive on lupul penalty was pretty (frank)ing sad. Barely touched him, and tanev had his legs wrapped around lupul's.

I think it's safe to say if Fraser is ready to go against NJD Friday, ranger will ride the pine for the first time this season. Still leaves you wondering about the C situation though

He'd have to sign a contract and clear waivers, but he does have NHL experience.

Wow are we ever thin at center. McKegg's not doing much, better this year, but not exactly tearing it up down there.

Where's Colborne?
