There's playing physical and then there's forgetting about the puck to just make a hit. The leafs were guilty of that and it cost them.
- bloatedmosquito

Say what you want man but heres 2 facts.

1) Vancouver was the better team.

2) The Refs played a big roll in the momentum of the game.

Leafs are good at staying in games when they are close, but 8 or 9 penalties or whatever it was is just bullpoop.

So every guy that's injury stays in the hospital till he's healthy enough to play? You've outdone yourself with this post. Well done

I had my suspicions but now they have been confirmed. You know nothing about hockey. But you sure know a lot about hate.

I've been checking out the ESPN shot tracker diagrams they've creating after each game, and I think there's some method to the madness here:
http://sports.espn.go.com...gamecast?gameId=400484451

There's a lot of shots to the outside and a usually a decent cluster in close tight; for all the Corsi talk, there's not much talk to losing possession by taking the shot. That's why the Leafs track scoring chances and if you believe what Randy usually mentions in the pressers, the scoring chances are typically pretty close.

Now that 3rd goal by Reimer was a softie, and pretty much put the game on ice, but there are a ton of low percentage shots there and that's pretty typical; the Leafs D does a good job (better with Fraser) of boxing out and preventing second chances, but that requires rebound control, and something that Reimer's getting better at, but I still put Bernier ahead of him.

The canucks outchanced the leafs at least 8-1 last night.

Yeah I bet Recchi mocking a guy who left on a stretcher from a dirty hit gets him lots of props around the league.

I didnt get to see tonights game(thank god) but i just saw the game highlights. From what i saw alot of the goals reimer should of had. I think the 3rd goal was due to bollands injury which messed up everything, 4th goal they left reimer out to dry. The first 2 goals he should of had though somewhat.

Kessel fighting? hahaha too funny

Other than that most goals were on the Rielly Franson pairing for tonight

- Mapleleafs_91

I just don't see franson a good partner for him in five on five play. Franson makes a lot of bad choices and mistakes to be playing with a rookie.

Hughson hosting the Bure ceremony lost him a lot of credit.
- RogerRoeper

Yes, because having the guy who was the announcer for the canucks when bure was here is so crazy. Man, reach much.

I guess next time they should ask the leafs if it is ok.

Meh, the 1 goal Franson pinches and JVR has to stay back, instead Franson gets pick pocketed and JVR still rushes in and pinches. JVR needs to read that better and stay back and play some D

He stepped down onto his skate; a careless play by a blockhead of a player.

Intentional? Probably not, but who knows. There's bad blood between the Canucks and Bolland.

- gravyface

hahaha, did we watch the same game? Stepped down? There was no stepping down at all.

Is the league investigating yet?

Every time they started to build momentum and started getting physical it was a parade to the box.
- burn

You have to match physical with physical, not retaliate because of the antics. That's the Canucks game plan, that's what they do, that's the reputation they have around the league.

Well they had to ask the Leafs if it okay to be in the NHL a few times.

No, the (frank)er can barely skate. He sort of lost his balance going in and kicked him in the ankle as he was hitting him.

Weird I have never heard that said about Kassian's skating. You guys haven't seen a lot of him have you.

No no, last night they had a choice to ask the leafs if they could play at the AHL level, but decided to play hockey instead of goon squad.
