If you hit a guy from behind near the boards, it's going to get called, regardless of whether the player goes down 'easy' or not. You guys got outworked, outplayed and completely dominated in your own zone and you got frustrated and the refs called you on it to keep the game from turning into another Philly/Washington line brawl. It was unfortunate that Bolland got hurt, but no way was Kassian going to apologize for a clean hit, and to put your Matt Cooke analogy into perspective he was already a marked man for the hits he put on Savard, among others and probably expected the NHL to call him on the carpet for Karlsson getting injured and wanted to look good before a review hearing.

you'd think so, but Vancouver didn't get called once for it...

If you turn your back along the boards you can expect to be hit. Zero integrity in Vancouver. I already said Vancouver was the better team so no point arguing about that. Kassian almost seemed proud that he injured Bolland and that's what pisses people off, not that fact that he didn't apologize for the hit because it was obviously clean. Also stop referring anything the Leafs did as "you". I'm just a fan, and although i would make you eat poop if you ever tried to lace them up against me, im still just a fan.

Good morning amigos!

Great afternoon of hockey yesterday. I'm glad CBC was able to air this game during primetime in Ontario. The more people educated about their team the better. Dose of reality was needed.

The Canucks are only one point better than Toronto, and needed an extra game to establish that. Settle down Beavis, if the CBC wanted to educate fans about good hockey teams then they would use the Stanley Cup and the teams engraved on it to demonstrate such matters.

But yes, it was a good dose of reality and learning experience to understand why the Hawks, Bruins and the Western Conference considers the Canucks the female doges of the league, led by two sisters and a goalie who doesn't want to be there.

I don't know if anyone has touched on it. But I could see JVR going back to Center for a short period of time here.

Then I'd have to say that I'd take Garrison right now for sure. If Cody turns it up this season then i'd have to re-examine. Garrison looked a little lost for about a dozen games last year as he joined the team a little injured and took some time to gel with new teammates. Since then, I've really liked his game.

and he can go by Mr Garrison for f sakes.... Right there he has won me over

No penalty in the NHL for kicking

Great no call after 3 or 4 softies on the Leafs

Who's next, the NHL didn't want to ruin Bure night

Don't worry, we're already aware that Vancouver is a dominant regular season team.

And by dominant you mean 4th in their division, despite playing the most games in the league.

Hey, not every team can be the Sabres or Flyers. You knew eventually the leafs would have to play against quality. Let's hope next time the leafs decide to show up.

It was Bure night, the refs wanted in on some action too. Kassian kicks a guy - then scores - great job NHL

Yea, I did. Sucked when we lost against the Hawks, but we did beat the Pens and Ducks. Last night, we lost to a lesser opponent, but that happens to every team. I agree, next time the leafs play the Canucks, Canes or BJ's, they better show up.
