Yea I can agree with that but Parise had heart. He also had no problem banging in the garbage goals in those mad scrambles that we seem to have such trouble with.

Parise was perfect for this system, it is a damn shame that he is gone. Still respect him a ton.

At the deadline, Jagr to an all in St. Louis for Sobotka? Too implausible? It might make them a bit less physically imposing, but my thought was that he'd bring that veteran scoring, like the Bruins saw in him last year.

I think we need to take a page out of the books of coach bombay and practice banging in the garbage since we cant ever seem to bury those chances

So last night was a huge letdown. Generated very little.

For reference, coming into this game Emery had a 5.08GAA and 85 SV%.

14 shots....Flyers could of a had a mite level goalie and we still would of been shutout. What we have maybe 3 scoring chances? Pitiful I know Elias and Zajac didn't play but still that's embarrassing. They 4 day layoff ruined the momentum we had started to build now we have to go to minny today...

May be wrong but did Pete split up Larsson and Gelinas? Feel like i kept seeing Larsson and Fayne out there together and they where the d pair on the goal.

Wow wtf is wrong with Elias. I don't understand how he could come back play like 2 games then almost play this one and not be able to play tonight either. So this stretch that was supposed to be easy is going to end up putting us back in the hole.

Yeah 14 SOG ain't going to cut it, although Philly was blocking a lot of shots and the PP looks like it's regressing.

Elias would be a big reason the pp didn't look as good since him and Jagr are the only to who work the puck around well without losing it or turning it over. I swear everyone else just tries to copy how Jagr and Elias play on the pp but can't so they give up the puck.

I love Gelinas on the PP, he's not afraid to shoot and actually gets his shots on net. Can't wait to see the day with him and Merrill working the point together on the PP.

At the deadline: Ryder and Volchenkov (with max retained salary, $2.1 mil staying with us) to Boston for Khoklachev? Too unrealistic? I was thinking Volch can sit in as a 7th Dman who will give his all in the playoffs and is only on their books for $2 mil. Ryder of course has playoff history in Boston.

I was worried we would see a let down too with the 4 days between games. Seems it happened and 2 of our better forwards are hurt as well. Getting a W today would be huge.

One a plus side Schneider is supposed to be starting tonight. We still likely won't be able to score so if he can keep it 0-0 and steal us a point that would be all we can really ask of him.

I read Schneider was but Marty has been playing quite well so who knows. It would make sense if Cory was in net since he seems to play the tougher teams if he isn't injured.

Are there any good RFA's next year ? I think if we are going to have quite a bit of cap space then maybe we should think about offer sheeting someone. I know that would involve giving up picks but no one can honestly think we will get 1 overall. It will be in that 9-12 range which to me is way more depressing then losing all year and getting a top 3 pick.

It's possible but with our luck I think we will do bad at sucking and win just enough to ruin a good pick. Watch the Pens trade for a first from a bubble team that just misses the play offs by 1 pt and that pick ends up winning the lottery so they get McDavid.

I am in favor of a big trade I don't want to discuss names because all the guys we could discuss can't fetch much and the guys I want to trade I don't want to think about trading I would rather it just happen quick and then discuss this player we got and not who we gave up because of the 2 real good chips we have both could bite you in the ass and be star players. Just maybe not on this team. If we had some wingers that where decent Henrique would have more points but he does all the work and no one can finish it off. He would certainly have a lot more points playing on a contender. And Larsson I think is going to be a top pairing guy with or without Gelinas but the two Adams are the only guys who would bring anything of value to make this team better. I just want something to get done because I am losing faith in this roster having what it takes to battle for a play off spot. They are old so the injuries aren't just going to go away. They can battle for the last play off spot if completely healthy but like I said they are to old so they will have a very hard time staying healthy and then the young guys will get too much ice time and get injured from playing to much. I wonder how much it would cost to get Freakarenko since they plant him on the 4rth line and healthy scratch him all the time.
