go into the rangers thread and ask who the best ranger player has been the past 4 games and see who they say. - rangerdanger94
Then ask them ok now between the two teams and they'd say Nielsen, okposo, or Tavares unless they were complete facking homers like yourself |

If we leave the building tonight with no injuries it is a success. I hate this Bruins team. - mighty13duck
Best thing that could happen to this team is an injury to atleast 2 d-men not named Hamonic

Amac is holding Hammer back, a lot - Danformo
Amac is holding the entire team back. The stupidity surrounding his play is what facilitates it. He isnot a good defenseman. There's no way to twist and turn it and make him look good. Less minutes, different pairing, etc, hes still goring to suck. People like Capuano need to open their eyes and see what is fron of them. It's absurd. |

Amac sucks even if he plays two minutes a night. - Cptmjl
He is good for at least one brutal turnover a game that leads to either a PP or a goal or sometimes both |

As much as you hate him you don't think if he had a better option he would do it? There is nobody in BP who can step in and give quality minutes and who is he gonna put out over amac right now? Carkner? Martinek (who is facking brutal)? Strait? Donovan played well last night would be nice to see him improve a little each game going forward |

Nah you're right. He has nothing to work with on his back end. I've acknowledged that plenty of tines. The ice time is the issue. We'd be better suited with even Hickey absorbing those minutes. Or even spreading them out more. I also don't like playing Tavares against the top line. Put cizikas out there and tell him his one job is to shut them down. Any offense that follows is gravy. Ice will open up for Tavares. Capuano does so much shat wrong imo. Just not a good coach. I don't like playing into other teams matchup. It's bush league like Capuano. |

Well, i sure pretty much all the hickey haters are probably gone from here.
which leaves A-Mac. sure he coughed one up that lead to a goal but the guy had a strong night. 28 mins. (way too much in my opinion)
Stop being a AMac hater. they guy leads the league in block shots. . - Spartiarti
You're right, our defensemen are all outstanding. I must have been watching some other New York Islanders team play in an alternative universe.

Huge win by Isles. I really thought we were toast after those two softies by Nabby in first. Nabby huge in last shootout save.
But they came out to play in 2nd. 57 shots wow.

Hope they not gassed for tonight game vs Boston. They going to need 5 to win. Poulin in next. he good for at least 3-4GAA. - Spartiarti
No one's questioning his heart, it's his ability that concerns me. Let's face it though, minutes played does not validate a players ability, if anything it simply underscores how undertalented this present defensive corps is. As for blocked shots, as the old addage goes, if you're blocking a lot of shots you're spending too much time in your zone. It's important to have players who are willing to sacrifice their body but I'd rather have guys who can quickly transition the puck from our zone to the neutral zone rather than transitioning it to the tape of opposing players sticks.
Amac is what he is, he's a third pairing guy stuck in an elevated role, but he's a fine example of the type of player this team has spent multiple draft picks on to eventually replace. Of our present defensive corps, I'd rather see Vis, Hamonic, Hickey and even Strait playing ahead of him and that's not saying much. |

Hickey has played really well just wish he wasn't built like a 14 yr old girl. Cappy's time will come to an end we just have to be patient - Vukota
JT needs to kidnap him for an offseason. If the kid would tack on 15-20 lbs of muscle he could be a damn fine #4 guy eventually.
He was originally scouted as a potential pp qb, which I think he shows glimmers of on occasion. I definitely like his positional play and tenacity for a lightweight. |

If Hickey put on 15-20 lbs of muscle he would be a Ryan Suter style of defender
Hickey is gifted with every aspect of the game besides size |

I don't love hickey and I still don't know if he is an NHL dman. I'm sorry their is no excuse for amac's play. He wouldn't have to block so many shots if he could clear his zone make a good outlet pass or carry it out. His play has been horrific this season |

You throw a fact in there you won't hear a debate from anyone on here unless it's relevant save for a couple guys. I know these guys well enough now to know that. |

i said the last 4 rangers games, he was the best player on the ice for either team. meaning the rangers and our opponents in those 4 games we played. meaning JUST between the isles and rangers during the isles-rangers game, JUST between the sabres and rangers during the sabres-rangers game, JUST between the red wings and rangers during the red wings-rangers game, JUST between the canadiens and rangers during the canadiens-rangers game.
i could of worded the statement better i suppose, but i clarified it pretty well in a post after.

you don't want me to bust out the facts that you guys have ignored before. might make you cry
i will if you want me to though. i love saying isles fans cry |

Nice to see Bridgeport finally wake up. Hopefully that gets them going.
if Strome is not first in AHL by year end in points, then that is disappointing. - Spartiarti
