Giroux is back with Hartnell and Voracek. Also, d pairs are: 5-44, 8-32, 41-75. McGinn on second line with Schenn. #flyers

Soooooo...

After hearing all day about the heinous crimes that Emery committed against humanity, I finally saw the tape.

I've seen 100 worse things so far this season.

If Scott didn't get a suspension for jumping Kessel, I fail to see how Emery is due to receive any extra time to think about his crimes.

Per Berube: Meszaros and Gill in for Gus and Schenn. Says he wants to shake it up. #flyers

Good! Luke Schenn needs to take a break and compose himself and get his game in order.

I don't like what Emery did, but I don't think it deserves a suspension.

See? There it is. Scratching Schenn doesn't help him, as a player. It just doesn't. We don't need him sitting at the NHL level. We need him playing well at the NHL level.

And I don't know at the moment, how you get him there.

I'm not one of those people who says that you have to win trades. Some trades, you will lose.

But the Flyers...at the age he is, we can't just let Luke Schenn not make it. Not for what we gave up. He's 23 years old. We have to help him make it.

- AllInForFlyers

Giving Schenn a breather and maybe an awakening call could certainly help him.

I look at it as a get your head out of your ass and wake up move. Schenn played well last year he just needs a wake up call.

Mentally this team believes they should lose and they are doing everything to prove that to themselves. I've said it before this team might not be a team that can win the cup, but they sure as hell could make the playoffs. Problem is they don't believe it. I put that on G. He is the leader that is his job.

A lot of people jumped for the moral high ground faster than Emery jumped Holtby.

Well, it could.

But if past is prologue, it didn't help him in Toronto.

I don't disagree with the decision for Schenn to not play, because in the NHL, the coach has to try to win. It's just that Schenn not playing at the NHL level has not helped him in the past, and I have doubts that it will now.

Hopefully, I am wrong.

Gill at least knows his limits & will likely take better angels to limit that part of his game.

I'm racking my brain, and I don't know if I can ever recall watching a team that iced a slower defense than we'll have on the ice tonight.

I really liked Gill in Toronto - he got run out of town because of unfair expectations. As a 3rd pairing, PK guy, he was good at his job.

But that was a long time ago.

I confess the only time I saw him in an orange uniform was an exhibition game against Toronto, but he looked awful. He looked like he couldn't play in the NHL anymore.

Good luck with that.

All I'd be doing there is speculating, but again, I'd guess that at the NHL level, there isn't a mechanism in place to really help one guy to get better.

I just read a lot of media sources; it just didn't seem to help him.

You should stop in more. This was happening during the playoffs in years past as well. Now it's just more deserved.

You'd have to know how he responded after the scratch. And how he responds after this one. There's plenty of mechanisms in place at the NHL level to help a player get better.

This team with it's current level of play, might struggle to make the playoffs in the AHL.

We can agree to disagree -- with the way we played last night, Luke Schenn isn't the biggest, or only, problem on this team.
