Once everyone takes their manpons out about Emery and we can talk about what needs to happen to improve this team...

1. Holmgren has to go. Yay Hextall because that is a "culture change"
2. Try and package some number of B. Schenn, Datsyuk V2, Simmonds, Hartnell , useless D man 1-6 for a legit top line forward or 1-2 dman.
3. Timmo moved to 5-6 dman ice time.

Not sure what you mean with #1 but I totally digress there. Prom toning hextall will be simple wash rinse repeat. If they want real change go get someone with a proven track record from outside the organization ... Or simply have snider retire... Too much good ol' boy club enough is enough already. We've had former players of this team as GM for like 3 decades now time to get the groceries from another store.

I think trading for Downie, and having him leave on a stretcher after playing one period, is about embarrassing as things get.

Besides, the servers are probably tougher than Holtby, and he laughed at Emery's punches.

why is that embarrassing? what is embarrasing is how 95% of the players played once they got score on. they laid down. At least Downie played hard and came to the defense of a teammate. its unfortunate that he got his face broken.

Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren gave a further injury update with regards to center Vincent Lecavalier and right wing Steve Downie.

"Steve is doing better, he remains in the hospital and will be released tomorrow," said Holmgren.

Downie is listed as out indefinitely with concussion.

Holmgren added that Lecavalier is day-to-day with a facial contusion.

Lecavalier currently leads the Flyers in goals (5) and points (7) in nine games this season. He missed three games (Oct. 12-17) due to a lower-body injury.

Both Lecavalier and Downie were injured in the Flyers-Capitals game on Friday night.

As a result, the Flyers announced earlier that they have recalled right wing Tye McGinn from their AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms."
