Guys are we really gonna debate a fringe activity like fighting? Which really in this day and age is a borderline embarrassment to the sport.
- JoeRussomanno

Probably better to debate useless fighting than to delve into how our division has become the laughing stock of the league. Philly, Jersey, and Ranger fans finally united through overwhelming failure.

I feel your pain, and again, no one is truly untouchable, but it would take a lot, a real lot, to get me to want to move Voracek and most likely even more to think about moving G or Mason.
- BiggE

G and Mason, for me. I'd ask Lecavalier what he wants to do.

And some guys we aren't going to be able to move, no matter what we do.

But if it was me, I'd be moving guys. Tomorrow, since they have to ice a lineup tonight. But I'd be moving guys. Have no doubt about that.

This entire site today is more embarrassing than anything that happened last night.

I wish Emery would punch the servers.

I think trading for Downie, and having him leave on a stretcher after playing one period, is about embarrassing as things get.

Besides, the servers are probably tougher than Holtby, and he laughed at Emery's punches.

It understandable, I think we're all either really frustrated, or getting there. We don't have to agree on any of their moves, let alone all of them, to be pissed off about how bad this team is, and how badly they're embarrassing themselves.

I'd say try not to take it personally, but I don't mean to come across as condescending.

- BulliesPhan87

It's cool man. I'm sure I've come across as a jerk lately and I don't feel any sort of pride about it. I'm so consumed with frustration...

What's done is done ... So going forward Berube needs to start scratching big name veterans on this team... If he's gotta scratch Claude a few games to light a fire under his ass I'd do it really... This is a joke and these players albeit poorly a constructed roster, can play much better, so if they're gonna embarrass their fans the coach can start ruffling some feathers...

I'm sorry guys but this team is really pissing me off these days... I don't mean to take it out on the other posters but when I call the squad out on these moves they made then get screamed at by you guys and see what I said come true it's a (frank)ed up feeling... I find myself getting so aggravated these days and causing more than just simple discussion ... Hope you all understand where I'm coming from ...

Right now I think people need to vent... I saw this coming and it aggravates me that this front office is so pigheaded...
- JoeRussomanno

Man, you're fine in my book -- you're here most every day, going through the highs and lows.

If you're a fan of this team and you don't feel some level of pain today...I still can't believe what I saw last night.

Hello to you all.

As an impartial mod, and not caring about team affiliation nor what you guys think of me be forewarned.

If it looks to me like you are just here to stir the pot, enjoy your free weekend, if it looks like openminded hockey talk......well it will depend on my mood.

Tread carefully folks.

Wow this game had a huge aftermath on HB
1st, a wave of negative Flyers fans swept in to insult their team heavily.
2nd, a huge wave of fans from other teams swept in to troll and play off of the high running emotions.
Now, a little wave of referees is showing up to clear the mess.
All of these things have resulted in almost 2500 comments in about a day and a half, and we haven't even reached game time today yet. This has got to be a new record. It's definitely the biggest explosion I've ever seen in my few months on HB.

G, Vinny,Read, Streit, Gus, Mason

That's the core I would keep in place. Obviously if an overpayment comes your way you take it but everyone else is available in my opinion. Trade the physical D men for some skill on the wing. Trade the Simmonds and the Hartnells for D men that dont skate in cement.

Still leaves the question of your #1 Dman. You've gotta decide what to do with Coots. With Laughton in the system you cannot, cannot, continue to make him untouchable.

It was lamented that he's injury prone... Iran it's bad luck but at this point is the team just making its own bad luck?

I get that fighting is an affront to the PC and overly feminized culture we live in today, but the outrage is bordering on ridiculous. What is worst Emery telling a player to defend himself before a fight or a blind side elbow to the head or full bore hit in the back. One has been on decline since the 70's, the other is increasing exponentially since the crack down in fighting causing permanent damage to players. How many players careers have ended cause of fighting vs an a indefensible hit?

Downie's discipline issues and injury history were cited as concerns.

Well, 17 pims, and a hospital bed later, those concerns have been put to rest.
