It's really easy not to get banned. Just don't be an bumhole. I don't know what's so complicated about that.

nothing is perfect, but most of the mods do a good job ... bodiva especially.

and posters don't know what goes on behind the scenes, and whether someone is banned. They base their idea of whether a mod is doing a good job simply on what they see happening on their screen.

Fair points, but I've seen it multiple times. A poster says something that fans of that team doesn't like, even though it wasn't personal or incendiary, they respond personally and with childish retorts like, "I hope ___ gets injured.", and then the guy who did nothing wrong gets banned while everyone else skates away. It's not really a big deal, I don't really care, but lets not pretend the system here is completely, and utterly arbitrary.

If Ray Emery is not suspended for a long time for his instigation and attack, the NHL should provide an explanation.

well, if you're talking about last night's post-game stuff, that was just one guy who said that ... and then he disappeared, so I'm assuming he was banned. He's been banned before, if I remember correctly.

I agree that sometimes there's a little more leeway given by the mods to their own fans ... but they can't always divorce themselves of their feelings. We're all hockey fans to start with, and occasionally it's hard to be 100% objective in a certain situation. Especially when it comes to your own team.

What we really need right now is Ek to drop a couple of rumors about potential Flyers moves, because in seven hours, we've gotta ice a lineup against a team that has broken our dreams for years, without two guys who played on our first line last night, one of whom is our leading goal scorer.

Maybe it's just me, but that ain't exactly what the doctor ordered.

Is there anything more anti climatic then a baseball bench clearer?

Having some time to cool down after last night, here are some observations:

The lack of compete after the 1st goal was just scary, that being said, at least Emery, Simmonds and Downie showed some emotion. While Emery may have taken it a bit too far, I'm fine with it, at least he cares!

Regarding trades, here are my thoughts:

Guys who are nearly untouchable (after the Gretzky trade, no one is truly untouchable)

Guys who I would only move as part of a deal to get a top pair dman or a hands down 1st line forward, the player acquired must be under 30 as well.

Do you really believe Jakub Voracek is an "bring it every night" guy who we should build around, or is that what you want him to be/hope he is?

Because I know what Claude Giroux is. He's played in the Stanley Cup finals, been a monster in those and in regular seasons. I don't worry about him, at 25 years old.

But those other guys on this roster...I don't trust too many of them, anymore.
