But does your owner and GM agree?
- Atomic Wedgie

Hell no! That's the whole issue sir. Our old as dirt senial owner calls these shots.

There's now way out until he leaves/dies whatever

Pure embarrassment, from the team all the way up to the announcers. This is WAY worse than the season which will not be named.

BLOW it up now. I'm serious.

First 4 years is 1 million salary, 13 signing bonus. Then up to 4 in salary and 8 in bonus. And with the new CBA and roll back, the salary is a bit less, bonus stays the same.

do you know what the word "if" means? you don't know any more about what is possible and what isn't than any other person. seriously, was it fun to pretend to be a pirates fan again? i bet that brought back memories, huh?
- hogweed

And you're talking about getting arguably the best defenseman in the NHL for a guy half of Flyers fans are saying needs to be benched and others are crying to have stripped of his Captaincy 4 weeks into his first year with the C.

Last night told me everything I need to know. GM makes a trade to try and shake up these guys, moves out a likable guy.

This team should have been walking on egg shells and should have felt embarrassed that they let a guy like talbot get traded.
When a trade like that happens. More often than not in the short term at least it should spark the team

This is a group of players that don't respect the hierarchy in this organization

I had no problem with Downie's fight in the middle of the second period (other than that he got injured). Didn't really see much a point to the brawl in the third period of a 7-0 game. Sure, it felt good for a few minutes, but in the end what did it accomplish? They still suck. They still got blown out and embarrassed. They lost their best player to injury. What message did they send? Do you think that brawl intimidated anyone? Did it make the Flyers feel better about themselves? Is Washington going to be afraid of playing the Flyers again?

MB, I'd half with you, but I dont think you will find takers for a lot of these guys, let alone a half-fair deal.

What does Dustin Penner have to do with this discussion? And while you're on cap geek look up Weber's deal. Says same thing as my link from a flyers site, via sportsnet. First 4 years, total pay of 14 million, signing bonus is 13 of it.

Completely off topic... but does anyone here spend 500-700$ a month on groceries? I spend 200/mnth with a family of 3.

Was curious what others spend.

Probably at least $400-$500 for me the wife, and 2 munchkins.

After signing its core players to big deals, promising them the keys to the city, to only ship them out quickly after... Along with other BS. Would you?

In the entire history of hockey, there has never been a single sentence uttered in a post-game interview that should be taken seriously.

I get that Flyers fans are looking for answers, but you won't find them in Talbot's comments. They mean nothing.

You can't get anything right, can you. So, why ya looking up dustin Penner's deal? Got a hankering for some of Mrs. Penner's delicious pancakes?

Why?

Why on earth would you need three?

- Atomic Wedgie

Need? No one needs a jersey. I had received a black Giroux practice jersey and wanted a regular one. So, I got a regular orange one. Then he became captain, and I got another one.

Well, you'll have to ask Wilson, who wanted the fight. His team was blowing out the Flyers at the time. Once that started, under the circumstances I don't see it not becoming a line fight, no matter who the two teams are. Even the Sedins would have had dance partners at that point.

This thread is in the Flyers section of the Hockey Buzz community. Everyone is welcome to post here. No one is welcome to come into a concentration of a team's fans (and I'm sure the Blues area is the same) and pile on. If you disagree with the way this forum on this site (see the distinction there) is being moderated, you are welcome to not post here. You may wish to read the code of conduct (which I was asked to write for Ek), which frequently mentions moderator discretion.

And if you were here early in the morning, you would know that I spent time supporting the nontrollish posting of people from a rather hated fanbase. Don't pretend to be naive and think your fan affiliation does not affect how you are perceived (or what your motives are) depending on where and when you are posting on the site.

- bodiva88

I at least respect how eloquently you are putting "I'm a mod, I'll do what I want." I understand you have the power to, but I thinks it's dumb you completely ignore the CoC if someone has the same fan tag as you.
