I must admit, after blaming Carle for having his shots blocked all day long, I've come to the conclusion that the Flyers just don't play a style where they are in position to allow our Dmen to shoot. Our forwards need to get the other team out of position or get them moving to allow our dmen to get a shot through.

Instead our forwards skate into the ozone... stop skating... get mugged and throw the puck to the dman out of sheer panic... but the puck winds up going to their backhand and they're pressured by 2 players as soon as he touches the puck.

They're just not quick enough in anything they do.

That's what I think at least. Whether it's true or not, who knows. First period of the Anaheim game had me flying high and regaining hope... and in typical Philadelphia fashion they took that hope and shoved it down my throat, tied concrete blocks to my feet, and threw me in the river.

Emery can handle himself, I doubt there are any Caps players that can take him 1v1.

any idea what that price tag is and when it becomes reasonable? they owe him nearly $80 million over the next 6 years (salary and deferred signing bonus) and they may entertain a trade to get into a better financial position. getting jones (and seeing him play at a high level already) makes this more likely, not less.
not saying he gets traded or we get him but the money is no joke to a small market team

I'm just wondering where the ½ of the fans are who hate Giroux right now. Everyone, including him, is disappointed with his play. But I don't think there is close to a majority who find him solely or even mostly responsible for this mess. And many of us still wonder if he was rushed back from surgery because it is unlike him to be this bad at faceoffs and we wonder if the hand isn't healed.

Yakupov and Smid for Simmonds, Coburn and a 3rd. Flyers assume the risk of Yakupov bolting for the KHL, which drives the asking price down.

Completely off topic... but does anyone here spend 500-700$ a month on groceries? I spend 200/mnth with a family of 3.

My brother played with a friend of his in high school.. he checked her one game and broke her collar bone or something. Was like 12 years ago.

Not many girls playing hockey with the guys, wasn't sure if it was you.

Im kind of tired of looking at the issues. They are too many, so looking to the future is probably a good thing.

Edmonton has some nice pieces and makes a good trading partner. I just want nothing to do with Yakupov. I dont care about the skill he has, for a kid to already have such big questions about maturity, effort and dedication...

Same goes for Timonen. He has given his blood, sweat and soul to this team. Put in an unfair position far too often. Those two, I stand by.

I have 3 Giroux jersey's, so I'm not quitting on him. But I put the Flyers ahead of any player. If I had to choose between winning without him, or losing with him, i'm choosing to win without him.

Not saying that is what's going on... just my 2 cents on it.

I love Timo ... but I honestly wish he would be scratched. He just can't skate worth a damn anymore.
