He'll be in Russian soon enough he keeps pulling classless moves like last night. Have fun watching 42 yr old Jagr out work your entire roster tonight.
- NickA

He's tried that already didn't work out well .

Emery rained punches to the BACK of Holtby's head. In the "concussion era" of sports, I can't think of a more classless thing to do. Anyone remember Jeff Buekeboom? Guy had his career ended by that exact thing. Emery is a tough guy. There was no honor in what he did. It was like the school bully beating up the class weakling just to show off in front of a crowd. He could have ended another man's career for nothing. I would be ashamed to be a fan of that team today.

Doing what? Attacking an unwilling opponent? Not even giving him a chance to take his gloves off? More than once pummeling the back of the guys head when he's on his knees? There was plenty to not like, you need to be more specific.

It looked something like this, but less pushing and more punching,

Flyers lost 7-0, got humiliated and started playing dirty. That's the bottom line. It's typical flyers hockey
- NYI44

Maybe from the 70's it was but you haven't watched much FLyers hockey of late if you think showing that much life is typical Flyers hockey

Didn't really see any punches when McLean is down. Certainly none to the back of the head. And also, as I recall, McLean was an active and willing participant in that fight. So, while nuanced, there are some major differences between the 2.

Remember when Crosby once punched a defenseless player in the nuts? guess what, a lot of players do dumb things.

It was an attempt to fight by Crosby, but lucky for the other guy, he is horrible at it.

Also, if you watch here (34 seconds in), it's clear Crosby jumped the guy: http://www.youtube.com/wa...ilpage&v=IB-MaQZDYXg#t=34

They sure do. And the dumb actions of one by no means excuse the dangerous and stupid actions of another.

It was bad enough to see the Flyers get rolled like that last night, now today we have to listen to fans of a franchise of a team that employed the guy who ended Marc Savard's career explain hockey morality?

It's going to be a long, long day.

Nope, but let's not go crazy here, even the best player in the league has bouts of extreme stupidity. It happens in the game from time to time.

Why would you be ashamed to be a fan? Fans just watch the team, they don't choose the players on the team and they are not responsible for the the players actions. Were you ashamed to be a Rangers fan when Sean Avery played there?

I can't lie. I have no problem with the move. Watching that second periond and seeing how they just laid down, seeing a guy with a pulse was nice. I get the outrage. I seriously do and I have seen goalies engage with other ones who had no interest in doing so and questioning it. In this case, considering the circumstances, lets just say I was happy to see someone care and am more concered with the way they laid down in the second period. that was disturbing to me

Hilarious that Emery punched Holtby in the head about 20 times, and afterwards Holtby was laughing, stayed in between the pipes and proceeded to shutout this pathetic, gutless team.

On the other hand Lecavalier, and Downie each got hit once, Levavalier got his teeth blasted out of his mouth, and Downie left on a stretcher.

TOMATO CANS!
