Emery was just showing his frustration on several matters. He does not want to be a back up, he does not like the team in front of him when he does play, he does not like to lose and all of above triggered him. I love Ray Emery and old man Snyder should turn Emery loose on his teamates and beat them into showing up for games. Seriously Ray is a battler and very competitive and he just snapped. No suspension forthcoming but he will be on a short rope with Lord Shanahan. - flyerdude17
totally agree with the thought process behind all of this. stilll. no need to be a scumbag to anohter organization. |

Ok ---- I want you to understand that I am not spamming or trolling or doing what the fox says but here is a view.... It may sound harsh, but I think it is pretty close to the truth.
Tonight Philly was an embarrassment. Could this have been the worst night in franchise history?
How can Philly go out there and commit what is tantamount to the Oakland Seals. Could Emery have been more of a coward by fighting a goalie who did not want to fight? Way to go Hero!
I have never seen a team start a line brawl and get their asses handed to them.
And tonight history was made as Downie created the single best ever GIF file since a monkey peed in its own mouth. I have never seen a face being "rang" before but now I know it happens.
But hey, you were playing Ovie so the score was not that sur---- oh he sat out.... ok.
...and all for a loss by a converted touchdown at home and being shut out.
And good for you NHL.... looks like that rule about keeping Helmets on is working 100%!
Worst Game Ever.
That was a true a devastating punch. Hope he is ok but what an idiot taking on Volpatti. And good for Volpatti backing off.
Who they going to fire now? That bullet is out of the chamber. |

I am not sure about that. The other goalie said.... actually verbally.... said that he was not going to fight yet Hero Emery (Who I like by the way... in net) assaulted him. Emery's own postgame remarks said so. |

Why does the GM routinely do post game interviews and give injury reports? Are they afraid of Berube being politically incorrect? I realize the coach does answer a few questions but most organizations do not have the GM in this role. Any idea why Mr. Snider wants him there? |

Everything looks bad about the situation in Philly right now...
GM trying to be the show...
Coach that has already seemingly lost his players...
an owner like no other, and not in a good way...
Between the Flyers and Sabres, there seems to be no end
to the nightmare each fan base is going thru.
Flyers just lost 7-0 to the Caps, minus Ovechkin.
Maybe making a play at Liles, wouldn't be a bad thing.
Liles is desperate to get to the NHL, he might play hard an
entire 60 minutes, something your defense must need badly.

I stayed away from the boards last night because of utter frustration, and I knew what it would be like. And rightfully so, they deserve all of the criticism they got. You could see some signs of progress being made under Berube. But there was obviously still lot's of work to do. But how you can go so completely backwards, to the have the bottom drop out like that, is mind boggling. That game, the 2nd period especially, was pathetic and embarrassing. It's one thing to compete and lose games just because you aren't that good of a team. But that game was beyond that. That game screamed to me, "we're not that good, and we don't give a poop about it". That's how bad that effort was. I was embarrassed to be a Flyers fan last night. Oh goodie, they decided to fight back and get into some fights! Too little, too late! Where was that fight when they truly needed it? I won't single out a single player for criticism, they were all bad. With the exception of the Goalies. This team talent wise is so much better. Well talent on paper isn't worth crap with that effort behind it. Fans are chanting "fire Holmgren". He is ultimately responsible, but how can the GM be responsible for that effort? That's all on the players. I'm disgusted. Rant over. |

Why the fuss over razor being barbaric ... Holtby is fine move on - Chris48
With that logic Kaleta gets nothing for his hit on Jack Johnson. There's a reason there's a penalty for "intent to injure".
Nothing wrong with a fight. But that wasn't a fight. He willingly jumped a guy who said he didn't want to fight, didn't even let him get his gloves off, and Holtby fell to his knees a few times, and each time Emery took the opportunity to punch the back of Holtby's head. |

Love these Pens fans coming out of the woodwork to whine about Emery and hope "someone takes him out". I make no excuse for what Emery did, it was definitely wrong. But as a Pens fan wishing that you have to equally be ok with "someone taking out" Malkin. Cant have it both ways. - hereticpride
sure you can. you can abandon your crappy team for 10 years and make your hall of fame player-turned-owner beg the state for money to keep the team in your fetid, frontrunner city; then when they're good again you can come back and pretend like you've been there all along and throw your opinion around like you actually give a ____ about the sport. |

I don't want anyone to take him out. He's worked hard to get to where he is now, not sure why he would pull some bs like this and essentially revert back.
But, if Emery ever plays a game against the Capitals again this year, which seems likely, you can bet your ass Wilson, Chimera, Volpatti, and possibly Oleksy will be looking to rattle him all game. - Blackstrom2
oh, like crashing the net and knocking his mask off with a 6-0 lead in the third? real classy moves there. |

How are the sixers doing attendance wise the last few years? And what about the phillies? Down 20 percent since the World Series win. Every city is a front runner city.
And I don't need to go into the claims of 10 years of abandonment being far more than the actual. Or the incredibly high number of teams in all sports to receive public money for buildings.
But the least you could do is properly reference Mario. Just to refer to him as a hall of famer isn't showing enough respect. Legend should be used. He deserves that distinction over the likes of guys like say Joe Nieuwendyk |

I also hate this "they are better on paper then how they are playing on the ice" or " they are better then what their record reflects"
I have heard this nonsense for 2 years!!!
No they arent! They are what their record says they are.

(frank) Emery. What a greaseball. Not only jumped Holtby but pummelled him in the back of the head when he was going down. Someone should two-hand him in the hip and put him out of the league. Complete joke. - jimithing
It was almost as cheap as a Malkin or NEal elbow.at least holtby had a chance to defend himself. Begone troll! |
