For the love of God get Simmonds off the ice for the rest of this game!
His decision making on that 3 on 1 was pathetic! - BiggE
the shot was the right decision because the pass wasn't there but to miss it so high and wide is frustrating |

At that point in the game, leading by 1, you have to hit the net. Even if you just take a soft wrister, you have to get it on net. Winding up and firing wildly is a bad decision. |

Wiziwig is the best site I know so far.

3 of the last 5 with a horrible 3rd period and an awful game following that. Keep the young blood up. |

Man our coaches are stupid. I can't believe it took them this long to figure out the best way to win is to shut out the other team. |

there's some truth to the off ice stuff, but i don't know the particulars.
carter and richie both seemed to let the contracts go to their heads based on their on-ice performances/disappearances. there's no question that the team reshuffled the deck hastily, but for me, the subsequent moves were the ones that sunk this team...starting w/ bryz - isaiah520
People generally respond to incentives... if you have have a 7-year deal paying you a ridiculous amount of money and a movement clause, what's your incentive to absolutely make sure you bring your best every night? Professional pride Winning? Yeah right.
It's no mystery why most players in contract years have big years... there's a very clear incentive there to bring it each and every shift... if you don't, it potentially takes food out of your mouth.
Flyers have given so many longer-term contracts to get AAVs to squeeze under the cap... and it's not surprising that many of these freshly signed players' performances take a dip after the ink on the contract dries.

A win, who'd a thunk it. Guess I was right, Razor had a nice game after all. Perhaps he should beat up opposing goalies more often

Heck, yes!
For the most part, they played smart hockey tonight. Smart decisions. Showed some...dare I say it...heart.
Doesn't erase the foul stench from last night, but...well. Two points is two points!
Ray Emery with the shutout -- screw you, NHL whiners!
Suck it, Phaneuf! |
