What you don't see in those clips is the fact that he misses those big hits about 80% of the time leading to him always being out of position. Shoot he'd fit right in

Let us start the messageboard "Sign Ellerby" chants!
The more I see of this kid the more I think we should take a chance...

If it sounds good this will be the one waiver wire pick up Snow will not pursue. In other words it makes way too much sense.

We have to remember that this would take common sense to sign him. that is something Garth and Snow do not have.

It makes too much sense. I am sure half on here are going to criticize me saying Donovan needs more minutes with a better partner.
- mighty13duck

I don't think anyone will criticize you? I do think he needs consistent playing time though. A kid can't develop properly getting pulled in and out of the line up inexplicably. He was cut a few times in the first six games when it wasn't warranted. Strangely now that it could be warranted he remains in the line up? The kid probably doesn't know which way is up? The problem of course is more Capuano than anything else.

good possibility, but if not, he's a perfect snow target. Former 1st round draft pick, 24 y/o defense first defenseman.

would actually be a good move to take him if we get the opportunity. We need healthy bodies and ones who are larger than 5'9 and can move a bit.

- Isles_since_6

This to me is a clear cut no brainer. Even if we have the max under contract it doesn't take too much intelligence to know that Carkner or Boulton should be the odd men out. If he's not going to trade for anyone then he needs to do something. 24 and a stay at home, could grow with this team. Total no brainer.

I actually think he is not a good hockey player and I'm kinda surprised he was still on a NHL roster.

Actually he's a very smooth skater for his size and it was considered one of his best attributes when drafted.
Edit.. Let me change that to 'pretty' fluid

at this point I would take a "not good hockey player" over carkner

I think we should start a pool on what time Snow's waiver claim goes through

Poulin has yet to lose us any points. I'm not sure how that comparison can be made since he's played a grand total of two games and neither of those losses were on him.
- keaner17

Poulin just cannot get a break. I see Colin is out of the lineup again? What did he do to Cappy?

From what I gathered from the LA thread is he isnt noticeable which is good for a d man. Idk? We picked up Hickey, moulson, and how many others this way. We give a sub par player like Amac thirty mins ice time a game. What could it hurt really? I don't see how this defense could be worse for it?

What can the guy do? He has 6 defenseman they all have to play. Its up to Garth to make the changes.
- mighty13duck

Change up lines and defensive pairings. Call up a player or 2. Maximize what you got.

I have seen a lot already unfortunately. Same goes for Poulin. I am fine with letting kids play but I hate losing points for it.
- mighty13duck

I bet you were the guy on here saying Tavares would never learn to skate and that the Isles blew the first overall pick.

Howie said Colin has an injured hip.

Do the islanders know that they don't have to touch up the blue line on a delayed offsides in their own zone.

Amac just missed a golden opportunity to lay a Senator out on the fly puck. He chose to back up instead the defenseman in me cringed

He also gets the primary assist on the Ottawa goal. He's awesome.

It's ok he should get the assist on the Ottowa goal. That was a pretty nice feed
