Nelson isn't doing a good job with our players. Our forwards still haven't learned how to backcheck or the positioning to support the puck againgst turnovers while they are on offense. It's not just the fault of our D & the goalies for the high number of shots & goals we're giving up. Eakins also hasn't been any good at the defensive part of the game either. There's lots of blame to go around and that includes the Assistant Coaches also.
It's getting really tough to watch these games. Eller had a point that the Oilers style of play is like that of a junior team.

Agreed The forwards have been horrible with giveaways and turnovers, way to many soft plays. Its not all D and Gs fault this team has been awful as a whole. I said all summer that an inexperienced coach wasn't the answer we tried that enough recently, at least under kruger we were respectful in the PP and PK. If the oilers are going to trade any1 of the top 5 itll be Yak or Shultz but I don't think the return would change things this year to many holes. Before the start of next season this team will have a new coach and starting goalie. Lets hope this team dishes out some money and gets what this team needs more experience even if one of the kids has to go. If you re stuck you don't keep spinning you re wheels you try something new and this team is stuck.

Agreed. they need at least one Vet on each line to lead the way. For the top 2 lines, it has to be a good sized winger with speed and grit. Look at the new Caps line with Grabo, Ward and Chimera. Lots of speed and grit plus Grabo's skill and teams are finding this line hard to handle. Some nights they are the Caps best line.
Too many 1 dimensional offensive, small players on a line is a recipe for disaster, not to mention injuries. We really have a bad case of the wrong blend of assets on this team for it to be successful.
