You can say that about any player though. The Canes won because of Brindamour and company not because of Staal. Oh and that staff infection (no not Stafford)

We are rebuilding basically from scratch so yes whomever we draft has to be that guy. Lets be honest Carolina got every lucky event happen

One thing Ill say abotu Reinhart is if hes our second line center for the next 10 years im not unhappy. If hes the 1st line center for 10 years well ill have plenty of early summer nites of golf ahead of me

Which is why they drafted MacKinnon, and, for that matter, Landeskog. They didn't build around Duchene. They got other players for that they could use Duchene to build around.

So by your logic you are saying the Penguins drafted Malkin to build around and Crosby was added as a piece? Malkin isn't the centerpiece of that franchise. Crosby is. That's what we are saying here. McDavid is who you build around. Reinhart is who you add to McDavid. Since it has to be backwards due to the timing so be it. Nobody here hates Reinhart but we don't like the idea of having him as our franchise player when we all know that player is coming in the next draft class

Don't be surprised if they win 6 or more.
They play the leafs 3 times, I see them winning 2 of those games ( leafs will come back to reality) They should beat NJ. And don't be shocked if they beat either or all 3 of these teams,blues,kings and wings. Cause they will look at that game as easy 2 points. Also if Miller plays like he did last night 6 wins is see able.
