Don't get me wrong, I'll take him, but if this is the guy they decide to make the franchise player, this team will not win a cup any time soon. If they get Reinhart and McDavid, great. However, McDavid, if the hype is correct, is the type of player you want to build a Stanley Cup franchise around. Reinhart is a step below that. Of course, it's all potential and projections, but if they turn out to be correct, the difference between McDavid and Reinhart is the difference between being Pittsburgh/Chicago and being Edmonton/NY Islanders/Atlantapeg.

me too I think ive watched like3 games this year where at last year prob 3 times as many

granted we will be in the top still the class fire power isnt as nice. I mean watchign Halifax last year was awsome.

The issue is we have drafted defensemen and Role Players for so long. Armia could end up being an exception Grigo hasnt shown any but of hope. Girgs as much as I love him on a good team hes never going to be above the 3rd line. Larrson Ott same thing 3rd liners

Few games ive seen I beleive one of htis year Id comepare him to Colorado getting Statsny or Duchene. Good player yes great player not so much.

If Girgensons is going to be more than a 3rd liner, his skating needs to improve a lot. He's getting by on pure hustle right now. Unless you have absolute magic hands, which Girgensons does not, that doesn't make you a very good top 6 forward, not on a team that's doing any sort of significant winning anyway.

There is a ton of hostility on here today. What is bringing on the anger? We are going to terrible this year. Probably going to be terrible again next year. Firing Darcy at this point won't make a difference. No GM can change the fact that we are bad. This is the first time as a Sabres fan in my life we have ever attempted a real entire rebuild. They are starting from scratch. It needed to be done since no free agent worth anything will come here. Basically we are going to have rebuild with youth and add a few veterans along the way. It's the first time sincd Darcy's tenure that he has admitted they needed to rebuild a different way. In my eyes it's kind of refreshing but none the less frustrating. He is going to be in charge of this rebuild so you better get used to it. If you don't like it stop watching. Female dogging about him isn't going to help. Want to female dog about something look at the play of Stafford and the terrible coaching of Rolston (who I don't think survives the entire season).

Btw I thin Reinhart will be like another Vanek. A great piece but not someone to build around. The 2015 draft is where you find that player

The problem is that it assumes that the Sabres are the only team that will be in this position next year. We have no idea how many other teams will unload, and be a step "behind" the Sabres in their rebuild. The Devils are going to be atrocious for a while. The Rangers can't score, and if they let Lundqvist walk, they could be in a great position for it as well. In fact, I'm almost convinced they will take that road. Philly is in deep crap as well. And that's just the east. Who knows who else will make an organizational decision to unload and rebuild? This method is now widely publicized. You're going to see more teams try to do it, especially for a talent like McDavid. The Sabres will be pretty bad next year as well, but to say they will be in the driver's seat for first overall is way too premature at this point.
