You do realize its just Hockey. They don't owe you anything. If you are willing to watch/buy their product, that is on you. You choose to root for this franchise.
- RynoBull

A very typical Buffalo Sabres fan's mentality!!!

You're right. They don't owe us anything. That doesn't mean that there aren't ways to get changes made.

i don't understand this system that Rolston is using. Passive zone coverage - allows the other team a ton of puck possession time. Tired players make horrible outlets and repeated failure at zone clear. Once the team makes it out of the D zone they have a passive forecheck. Very little pressure in the offensive zone. Double failure

on top of this Rolston decides to sit Zhadorov for NYR when he was the best D on the ice against Dallas.

Gregorinko is an offensive specialist, so what do you do with him? Rolston plays him on fourth line with Mccormick, kaleta, scott. back wards!!!!! put him on top two lines and PP to see if he can succeed at what he does well.

Fire Rolston....

- Mikeleelop

Wait....is this Garth?

Nice spelling.

I have yet to see a team whose fans didn't feel good about their young prospects in their systems. Buffalo's "foundation" is no better or worse at this point than any of those teams were. Why? Because there's nothing there but potential, which means absolutely nothing until it turns into something of value.

Islanders fans have been clamoring about their young talent pool besides Tavares for years. They have one playoff appearance to show for it.

- buffalofan19

It takes years. The Islanders just made the playoffs after drafting 1st overall and having the worst record anyone had since the lockout 4 years before.

Thats what we are looking at, 3-4 years from now.

When they drafted JT they had 0 talent. We have a ton of potential in our system. They didn't have talent like Armia or Grigorenko, or defensive prospects like Risto in their system when they drafted JT. The comparison isnt valid

OK!!!
Sure.
This is how this clown has made you and I buy into this BS!!!
Well, I have been fooled for 17 years.
Shame on me if I get fooled anymore!!
By the way, how old are you?
Have you been a fan throughout these 17 years?
If you were, you would know where I am coming from.

- Sabresfan88

I am not sticking up for Darcy, but to say that all of these young guys and draft picks are doomed because he picked them is just as nonsensical as saying that he's done a good job. This is a rebuild. Everyone loves Girgensons. Guess who made the trade that got us the 1st and then used that pick and traded up for him??? Darcy.

We have nice young pieces, what are you watching. Guys, we can say they are young etc. but not one player on this current roster, outside girgensons, has any heart. Once again this is the product of Darcy not knowing anything about talent.
He had the 12th pick last year and he thinks he hit gold drafting grigorenko who was believed to be a top three. No he didn't, the other 11 GMS are smarter then Darcy and skipped on picking him. We could have the top three picks next year and he will miss on them all. Hertl a fast big center was picked after grigorenko, he has more goals combined then all our young guys.
You can be young, have less talent, but you are in the NHL, every player is soft on that roster. Bucky Gleason hit the nail on the head, tallinder wasn't good enough three years ago at 3.1 but is good enough at 34 at 3.4 mill. It will come out,Steve ott is asking for 5 years 30 mill, which is a joke.. You can rebuild without being this bad,but Darcy knew this was the only way he could sell Jed terry pegula clampett on staying on. I could go on and on but one thing is for sure,in sports you have a select few coaches and GMS that dominate, the rest are buffoons who are in the buddy system. You don't find many very educated guys taking the life of hockey coaches or GMS on the if come, who would want to make 10 to 15,000 a year, travel all over on a hope and a prayer that you make it. REGIER has had the perfect storm, from RIGASES,nhl coming in,Quinn giving REGIER and extension knowing golisano would never fire a guy with a contract, and then clampett being a fan. Quinn kept REGIER because he was a yes man to Quinn, because he got him the job.regier now hires rolston be use he is a yes man, this franchise is a joke

- REGIERhater

Hey squirt...you can't have it both ways. You are talking out of both sides of your mouth. You say Regier is an idiot because 11 gm's passed on him....but Regier is the only idiot when he passed on Hertl. Doesn't that mean all the gm's before Hertl was taken are Morons too? Amazing logic.

Pittsburgh got to the playoffs in 2 years (once they acquired that elite player). Philly got back there in one, and then blew up again. There are ways other ways to do this. I refuse to accept, in a league where parity is becoming the norm, that you have to have 3 to 4 years of misery to be any good. They don't need to be a cup contender in 2 years, but they should be a playoff contender. Four years at the bottom is, and should always be unacceptable for any standard. If it's not, you simply do not possess a championship mentality that's good enough to get you a cup, either next year, or 5 years from now.

Something has to be done to push this CLOWN out of Buffalo!!!
A riot, demonstrations!! I don't know! Something has to be done

- Sabresfan88

No because

A) We aren't Canadian

2) No one will show up

People have to stop going, buying tickets and watching on tv. Its already happening and fast. This thing should work itself out naturally.

Any Islanders fan would point to the likes of Bailey, Okposo, and Moulson and beg to differ. Every team has prospects that are believed to be the next big thing. Very few of them actually turn out to be that. They usually turn out to be okay players, who may even have a long and successful career, but are never actual difference makers.

I think Brian Elliott was expecting a trade to Buffalo this season.

He has a Buffalo Sabers mask. Let's make a deal.

Also, I noticed that there wasn't an option for 0 wins in the poll.

Very sad stat: 497 out of 580 votes were for 4 or less wins. 85.7%

No smart guy, grigorenko was talked up and everyone knew about his laziness,Darcy the genius didn't. Also,we needed centers, not every team needed centers smart guy

Who are all contributing in some way. That is helping my point. We are getting the secondary peices in place along with a solid defensive foundation. Next step in that top pick player

This is the best way. It has to be done right though. Is Darcy the guy? No, but I will let him draft Sam Reinhart

How many Stanley cups in 43 years do we have? Early stages of rebuild,Darcy has been trying to rebuild for 16 years.
As evident by all the Ex NHL players that live here, buffalo doesn't need to convince players to play here, the problem is,NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY UNDER REGIER. He is officially rebuilding, because he can't fix the hockey team thru free agency or trades. When the owner has to fly out to convince robyn I am over the hill regehr to waive his no trade clause ,we thought we hit the lottery at hockey hell ,I mean hockey heaven. Darcy as soon as the start of last year, thought he had a Stanley cup contender, the guy is a moron. When Jordan Leopold gets traded and he said it was like the grim reaper was in the room all the time, who do you think he meant. Do you think the owner just on a whim said within three years we will win the cup. He talked to Darcy and Darcy believed it. Now they might be the worst team ever,ey are a joke

- REGIERhater

1. You guys made the ECF in 05/06 and (correct me if I'm wrong because I might be) came close to eliminating Carolina, who won the cup that year. Rebuilding teams do not make the conference finals.

2. They say that they will compete for the Stanley Cup to increase revenue. How many people want to watch a team that flat out says "Yeah this team is going to (franking) suck this year." Of course they'll say that they'll make the playoffs. Tambellini said that the oilers would make the playoffs the season before he got fired.
Coming from an Oilers fan who hasnt seen Oilers playoffs since 05/06, you have to be patient. Things will only get better in Buffalo.

For me it's refreshing to see a rebuild in effect after several years of just trying to be average.

No offense, but your team is probably the worst team I've ever seen at the NHL level.
- Boinker

Agreed, well maybe the old Cleveland Barons were worse and your team is the best team I have seen that will never win a dam thing.
