I'm only trolling your poor knowledge of history and inability to count. Not the Flyers. - ScienceJesus
Sorry, I just know the Pens sucked enough to get Fleury, Malkin and Crosby in short order. That's pretty (frank)ing bad. Oh, and they threatened to leave the city. Other than that, I don't think much about Pitt.
Do you want to debate that history? Let me know.
And no matter how you cut it, trolls troll. |

I think if he was magically transplanted to an overall good team with complimentary pieces he would put up big numbers. The mix of players here this year is just awful, and while I agree he can play/be better, it's pretty tough to work through in this environment. He's still a young player to a degree and needs to work through this sort of thing. He was fine when Hartnall could score 37 goals. Hartnall now doesn't look like he can do much of anything, and I'm not so sure it's because Giroux can't get him the puck. Giroux is a playmaker. The Flyers would get more out of him if they had an actual goal scorer. - eayost

It was bad for 3 years before, and then 1 year after because the 1 sniper they signed retired in the middle of the season and their owner did too.
*edit* was mistaken on 1 year of that 3 years. - ScienceJesus

Please, let's not act like the Pitt fans are in this thread on this night for "hockey talk". You might be, I'm not sure, but I do know your timing is bad if that's the case. |

I guess they imagine there would have been some sort of miracle renaissance in 04/05 preventing them from being at the bottom of the league that season. |

And the flyers would have had a core like that too had they not sent it to Quebec for lindros. |

I make no excuses. The team had no money, a poopty arena, poor parking & concessions deals, a boatload of debt to work its way out of, and virtually zero talent in the system. They sucked hard for a number of years and made poor FA signings post-lockout. So much so that it even got their long-time GM fired that was close friends of the owner. There was nothing redeeming about those years.
You also forgot Staal at 2nd overall.
I only even bothered to interject when extremely poor knowledge of history is spouted (or as I said, an inability to count). And I only interjected on that point.
If you'd like to debate the poor decision making of the Flyers management over this long stretch, I'd be glad to do so as well. It is about to cost a 2nd GM his job because of an owner that involves himself too much in hockey operations.
*edit* to continue my litany of poor Penguins decisions during that period, they also hired their (frank)ing announcer as the coach. They might as well have been the Lightning circa Melrose as coach. I can probably come up with a few more examples of the awful decision making during that period too, if you'd like. |

Agreed I'm not saying the Flyers fans are at fault here there other teams fans shouldn't feel the need to troll but is it really that difficult to just scroll past the nonsense? |

Downie did after the game. Got concussed in a fight in the 2nd. Don't know why it was all the way after the game that he went to the hospital though |

I don't think it's a concern anymore. I think it was more of a mental thing. The reason I would do it as a Flyer fan is that your scouting seems to be able to find forwards at will. I'd go for Simmonds and Couturier but I know that isn't happening. Anyways, we are deep on the back end and Edler does bring offence and D. |

Downie has a concussion, was taken to the hospital for observation and testing.
Lecavalier suffered "facial injuries" and it's guessed that he lost some chicklets.
Neither is playing against New Jersey tomorrow |

you're not here for hockey talk. you're here because the Flyers just played a terrible game, and are a bad, bad team right now.
you simply want to highlight how bad the Flyers are, as if us Flyer fans don't know. and you want to do this while disguising your comments as an effort to talk hockey.
you're on another team's board immediately after they suffered a horrendously embarrassing loss. you are nothing but a troll. |
