Would you trade Morin and a couple of firsts for Seth Jones?

He's 19 years old, 6'4", playing 30 minutes a night, is on an entry level contract, and has huge upside.

I don't know what Morin's going to turn into 5 years down the road but Seth Jones, today, is better than anything on the Flyers roster or anything they have coming up in the next 2 years.

He's paired with Weber...take that away and the kid isn't going to look nearly as good. Not for a while at least.

their D was a particular abomination tonite...looks like kimmo should pull a mike schmidt and retire tearfully saying he can't stand playing below a certain std...mook's not a terrible #6, gusty's still finding his way...very undynamic corp...
- isaiah520

What facts do you have to state Schenn is a # 6? Just because he's last among d-men in ice time, skates like he has a 300 pound sweathog on his back, and has offensive ability that would fit in a thimble doesn't mean he's a # 6. In fact he has the potential to be a top pairing defensive defenseman.

Not trying to rub it in but those first rounders could be very very valuable...
- Genev21

Yea unless they're in a deal for a franchise type guy, those 1st have to be held. There's no telling how many years could be non playoff ones here. I'm not optimistic about next year either. (Note: That doesn't make me any less a fan blah blah blah. Just how I see things ATM)

Now that's bad Holmgren, firing in the next few days?
- Genev21

holmgren should have been let go with lavy he is the one responsible for the players that are there he signed/traded for them lavy ruined the players he had the chief is trying to build a team from broken parts that don't mesh together this team is a shambles right now serious changes need to be made .... tonight i almost stopped watching it got so bad .... the fights at least showed some desire ... what emery did might not have been right but at least he tried to spark his team... it is a sad time to be a flyers fan right now... this team deserves to be last.. they play like they have cement in their skates ...its time to make the block buster trade to get a top pairing d-man in to get some spark to the offense what they have isn't working its not getting better we were fooled with 2 wins in a row this was a total team break down both goalies got hung out to dry....

Well a lot of these players will be back because so many have NMC, but I could see them being willing to waive it this team will probably need a total rebuild and I can't see these players wanting to stick around for that.

I've spent most of my life in the Philly area so I understand your guys emotion that being said I think Holmgren should have been gone before Lavy. He did an atrocious job of getting the players this team needed and did nothing but get Streit to address the defensive need. His moves have not worked out at all recently and he gave Lavy a team that really had little hopes of success.

Last year was clear this was not a cup level team. Don't waste the 4th on Gagne, dump whatever non returning pieces like knuble, fed..not going to get much. Sit Kimo due to injury. Go from there. Snyder never folds so he's always chasing his tail. Wouldn't be a top team, but you would have the young forwards with Jones, Schenn and gus as a young core on D.

Horrible. Consider yourself lucky.

I won't be surprised if Emery gets disciplined, and apparently Downie, after the game ended, left in an ambulance.

Oh, and G had 3 shots... Woot!

Make the Weber deal. Get a skill winger for Coburn+. Recoup some picks for one of Simmonds or Hartnell.
- hereticpride

Make what Weber deal? You don't have enough to acquire him. Don't say one of the Schenns and the next Ron Francis either. That isn't close to being enough.

On a side note, would have been cool if Hunter was the coach for the Caps. Berube v. Hunter would have been a great way to finish off the night.

Keep in mind he was told by the owner to get Bryz. So he should be fired for listening and holding onto Lavy and Bryz over ? and BOB.

There's nothing honourable about punching a guy in the back of the head when he's down but that's the Flyers for you.

Move over Buffalo, you have some company.

You will probably get your wish here shortly, I dont think he makes it through the week. I dont think Berube stays after the season either, this team needs a fresh face that wasnt/isnt tied to organization. What an absolute mess this is, especially after last season. I honestly feel bad for Vinny, good thing he has a cup certainly not getting it here anytime soon.

This is what I am most curious about from Flyers fans. Is Giroux still considered untouchable?

I think Holmgren will see that it's time to go sooner than later, much like Clarke did. I'd like to see a fresh take on team building here. IMO Clarke and Holmgren are the same regime for the most part. Been trying for 2 decades now. Let's try something else. What's the worst that can happen? Not win the Cup?

I'm not really concerned Hextall is a "Flyer" either. I doubt Hexy's vision of a winning team is necessarily Holmgren's or some stereotypical "Flyer" team. That he was assistant GM of a winning franchise is good enough or a resume for me.
