Phanuef all over

Yep typically whenever a trade doesn't make sense there could be more to the story than just hockey

I think so. If I remember correctly she petitioned to have a plane of plexiglass between them at all times. That puts his blowup on opening night in a whole new light.

That one could be true.

The one with Dion and Iginla beating the poop out of him is pretty well documented. Almost comical that somebody would deny it. Hell Mike Keenen even hinted that something happened. The Pronger one is another well documented one.

- Bieksa#3

The one with Dion and Iginla is "documented" the same way all of them are...through rumour sites and innuendo. Not by any reputable sources. I'm sure poop goes on behind the scenes, but it's just that we keep hearing the same plot with different characters...Player A is sleeping with Player B's wife/gf/sister...

It gets a little old.

Like I said, their coach was Keenan and he even hinted that something happened. Or is the coach not as good of source as a Phanuef fan.

As I mentioned keenen basically said it happened and that they had to trade Dion because the players hated him

Maybe something did happen, is that all it takes to create a story with Dion (frank)ing Conroy's wife and Iginla beating him up?

But Keenan has a big mouth, if he knew anything he would say.

BTW...most of the people who know stuff are Phaneuf haters. Weird eh?

Perhaps it's a goalie thing? (didn't Roy's wife also issue a restraining order a number of years back?)
- Zogg

Pretty sure Boudreau was about to do the same. Roy is a nutjob. Players seem to respond to him though.

Really? How does Keenan have a big mouth. I've never once before that heard him say anything like that.

You know...there is nothing that confirms this statement. I've read quotes from Keenan saying he refused to get into dressing room rumours and that he'd love to have Dion on any team he's coaching.

Maybe Dion was an bumhole...so what? I've heard the same about Bieksa and Kesler for years. But this crap about Conroy is just that...crap.

Roy has done a nice job, no doubt. But look at their roster compared to last yrs roster. Mackinnon, Tanguay, O'Reilly, and a basically healthy Landeskog. You add that from one yr to another to any team and they are going to improve

He didn't. Here's what Warriner said in what was called a very candid interview...

He was asked if Dion was a distraction in the locker room and Rhett admitted that it was true and it was time for him to go. Phaneuf wouldn't listen to the older players and veterans in the locker room. The other defensemen like Regher and himself tried to help Dion with his defensive game but he refused to listen and improve his defensive coverage. The veteran players tried to put him in his place but he wouldn't listen and Phaneuf believed that as long as he was putting up points and making huge hits, that he didn't need to work on his defensive game.

Keenan tried to mold him into a Pronger type defenseman and play him big minutes but Phaneuf wasn't interested in playing defense and just wanted to score goals and make big hits. Pronger could score the goals but he also learned discipline in shutting down the other team. Phaneuf wouldn't do that and never developed the defensive side of his play that he should have. Phaneuf thought that as long as he put up the points that it didn't matter. When Brent Sutter came in, people assumed that since he was his junior coach that Sutter would be able to control Phaneuf but Phaneuf was older now and wanted to do things his own way and was more wild. Warrener compared Dion to Mccabe - a player with a good shot but average defensive game. Warrener said many people don't think Dion will ever rebound and that the team and coaches should have been harder on him from the beginning.

Really? I've never once heard anything dressing room or bad said about Bieksa from his teammates or coaches. I did hear fringe nhler Shane O'Brian complain about AV that Bieksa as well as others mentioned could make mistakes and not be benched but he is

he's had a few interviews about it. And I have no idea how to post links, gifs etc

How is this telling me that Keenan has a big mouth?

Not to thrilled about the 4pm start, but I understand CBC trying to get a national audience. Gonna be a great atmosphere with Bure being honoured, can't wait.

You've never heard Keenan on sports shows? He'll say anything...they love to ask him leading questions. I'm not saying this as a bad thing...I wish more people in sports would be honest. But I just think if he knew, or even suspected anything, he would have basically said as much. But he didn't even hint at something like Dion sleeping with someone's wife.

Yeah but not from 2nd last to top of the league. Joe Sacco was an idiot. I think getting rid of him > than all the players you just mentioned. Not to take anything away from Roy though. I don't believe just any old coach could have stepped behind the Avs bench this season and gotten the results that Roy has.

Early days though...

I think Duchene's reemergence has a LOT to do with Sacco getting fired.
