They are missing 2 key players that help on the defensive end - Kulemin and Fraser. Also, say what you want about Bozaks offense, but he is defensively responsible. They do really need one more big shutdown dman...someone like Giordano on the Leafs would be pretty incredible! LOL

Lots of media outlets picked them. I couldn't believe it. I'd take the leafs over the habs or sens without a doubt. We may all miss the playoffs, but I still think we're better than both those teams and thought so before this year.

I agree as our D is not good (see the need to acquire Girardi at the deadline). However, big difference between us and the caps is our grit. It's the main reason we hung with Boston and punish teams like the habs.

I think your goaltending is much better as well. That was certainly lacking with the Caps back then. Maybe what forced Boudreau into a more defensive system.
