If the leafs didn't play so poorly then they might get more respect ... Fir all the trash talk the flames get from leafs fans for being terrible you'd think a team with all the good players the leafs have they would dominate ... But I barely noticed and leafs players out there ... Pretty much the whole game the flames controlled the play . If not for sone poor positioning by a Ramo the leafs don't win ... And I'm not saying this because I hate the leafs and am biased ... As long as the strong goaltending for the leafs continues they will continue to win games ... If it slides at all ... They could easily go on a massive losing streak

Like this? Whatever buddy, I know a lot about hockey, I've been playing it since I was 6 and have followed not just the Leafs but the game itself in depth for many years.

And frankly, I'm getting sick and tired of hearing that the Leafs don't deserve to win games because were getting outshot.

Leafs came in on the road, on a back-back without one of our top 3 centres, top 9 wingers and our most physical defenseman and Lupul with a banged up foot. It's also only Clarkson's 4th game as a Leaf. There's some excuses for ya.

We came out and put 4 goals on the board. Yeah, we got outshot but teams can shoot from the outside all they want, our goalies are top-notch. I don't really give two f-uckin poops about that, there's a reason why we've scored 48 goals and allowed 32. That doesn't happen by accident.

Our 4 losses are to Colorado and Chicago who are top of the league, a road loss to Columbus and
a loss to Carolina on a goal that bounced off the boards went in off Bernier's foot. Leafs are a great team this year, deal with it.

Goaltending tandem for the Leafs is looking great! Don't know how long they'll be able to stop 40+ shots a night. But a win is a win.

Yeah, pretty good performance by a rebuilding team. They're obviously going to need more top line talent and a goalie to compete but at least they're working hard.

Still, i've always thought he was crap and it made me sick when all the leaf fans loved him at first. He is just garbage, nice guy but seriously, doesn't do one particular thing well. Just mediocre at every facet of the game and the softest player in NHL history. When kessel sends you flying, there's issues.

One flaw? Your Leafs are getting out shot 36 to 26 on avg according to NHL.com. that is one BIIIIIIG flaw. Or more likely several medium sized ones.

Why do you need other hockey market fans to acknowledge what you feel about your team.? I think you're lacking some confidence.

but we won. I told you i am very confident. I think we need to shore up our D core, but i like the leafs chances for a deep run this year, we have the grit that some other teams are missing in our conference. I'm at the point where these corsi / fenwick stats have been rubbed in our faces for over a year now where i HOPE we get outshot every game and win. Goalies steal games, and the leafs have 2 very capable goalies. If you play your backup say 10-15 games, you are nervous. We never play a backup goalie, so i am very confident. I hope we win all the games we don't 'deserve' to win all season.

on a sidenote, you can question the leafs being for real all you want. I just found it funny how lots of people picked OTT to make the SC finals. How the hell are they for real????

The game reminded me of the Leafs 2-3 years ago, even las year. As fans we'd see them seemingly dominate play only to be done in by a mistake here and there that other teams would capitalize on. I would happen so many times, missed empty net turns around for the tying goal then a loss, bad goaltending, I remember the Leafs throwing out 50+ shots at Dwayne Roloson and the Isles, only to come out on the losing end. It's the old saying "bend don't break", teams have to learn how to win and gauge how a game is going from play to play. You're not always going to play your best, the schedule doesn't allow it, but good teams find a way to win, that's the bottom line. Good teams pick up points when they can, work on their game through the year and try to put it all together in the playoffs.

By no means do I see the Leafs as a perfect dominant team, but after being on the other end for so many years, I can appreciate a team that plays poorly but wins. In the end, I think they can play with most teams in the league over a 7 game series and that's all I really hope for right now.
