The whole "deserved to win" or "deserved to lose" thing is kind of stupid if you ask me. Short of being completely robbed by the refs, a team either does enough to win or they don't. Neither Edmonton or Calgary did enough to win, they weren't good enough. The Leafs made them pay for the mistakes they made while Reimer and Bernier kept the door shut. That's hockey. People need to stop making excuses.

Only the win column counts in the end, thats what i cheer for

No ones making excuses. We lost, we move on. That's hockey. Some nights you're the best team and lose and some nights you play like crap and win. Happens to every team in the league.

I don't want to sound like a Habs fan by complaining about officiating, but that game was really lopsided on the calls. Ultimately it didn't matter, but it was noticeable.

I can see that. And I agree I guess - just some nights (i.e. against the oil) I think they do enough for me to say yeah - that was a good win....and some nights (calgary) I think damn....I'm glad they held on and won that one. lol They are a funny team - but if you look at it - they have great goaltending and top end goal scoring - and that's why they are where they are. You can't build a team that is amazing in every aspect of the game (or it would be very hard to) - I don't know why people are so offended by the strengths the Leafs have. Clearly they (like every team in the league) have areas of weakness they need to work on and address. But they have some great strengths as well.....and bottom line that's why they are winning games...not "luck".

Leafs know how to score goals and don't care about the opposition shooting on net. If anything it just get our goalies even more in the game.

The soft play at times will catch up eventually but we also have yet to have our full team in a single game this year. The Leafs are a talented, counter-attack team that can score at will with two solid young netminders.

That's our identity and were a good team. If you don't like it, f-uck off you jealous pieces of s-hit

Good goaltenders been doing that forever....Pretty sure kipper stole games a number of times....

This. I don't like trolling, but fu*k, you can have sh*t guys like stajan etc take 40 shots all you want on a good goalie like bernier. I'll take legit snipers like lupul, kessel, JVR etc take 20 on a garbage goalie like Ramo. That's what Corsi doesn't tell you. Call it 'luck' all you want.
- clark_griswold

The difference is when you give up 40+ shots to a Chicago, San Jose, St Louis... you will lose more than win. You're not going to find allot of Flames fans complaining too much about last night. We outplayed the Leafs in almost every aspect of the game save one (pun intended). That to me isn't luck, its what every team hopes for, a key save (or 40) when the rest of your game is poop. A win is a win but if I'm a Leafs fan (and I'm not so take it for what its worth), I'd be concerned...

Leafs won't get respect because the franchise has been a joke for so long, so people say 'the leafs are crap'. They point out we have been outshot etc. Red wings on the other hand, they MUST be good right, i mean they've dominated for so many years. Fact is they have been outshot in every game but 3 this year (at least that's what they mentioned during the wings nucks game last night). Just something to chew on.

So if the Leafs lose a game when they out shoot an opponent 45-15 you're going to be just as pissed off as if they lost when they were out shot 45-15???

Come on man, wake up. There are different wins, just as there are different loses.

That's what I find irritating. When people talk about the Leafs they're mostly just talking about luck and shot differentials, and maybe they mention good goaltending but you rarely hear anyone mention that the forwards are making teams pay just about every time they make a mistake. How is that luck? Toronto has one of the deepest groups of forwards in the league right now and no one wants to talk about that because it doesn't fit with their view of them as a lucky, undeserving team.

Laugh at the collapse all you want, i knew we would give boston a tough time, i called Bruins in 7. The leafs are dangerous because we have 3 deep lines, toughness and goalies. Our D is definately our shortfall. To your point, I don't think taking boston to 7 was a fluke, neither was last year or this year. I'm not concerned, we can hang with the good teams and we are only getting better (all our top players are young). Not concerned at all.

If the Leafs can't beat a team while outshooting them that badly then they need to take a step back and look at the shots they're taking. They also have to look at why they're allowing goals on just 15 shots. Shot totals tell one part of the story, that's all.

Usually only 5 and a game if there is an injury, which I don't believe there was... Was there? Thought he wa s fine.

I'm pretty sure he's going to get suspended. Leafs don't play till Saturday so no rush to review it.

Like this? Whatever buddy, I know a lot about hockey, I've been playing it since I was 6 and have followed not just the Leafs but the game itself in depth for many years.

And frankly, I'm getting sick and tired of hearing that the Leafs don't deserve to win games because were getting outshot.

Leafs came in on the road, on a back-back without one of our top 3 centres, top 9 wingers and our most physical defenseman and Lupul with a banged up foot. It's also only Clarkson's 4th game as a Leaf. There's some excuses for ya.

We came out and put 4 goals on the board. Yeah, we got outshot but teams can shoot from the outside all they want, our goalies are top-notch. I don't really give two f-uckin poops about that, there's a reason why we've scored 48 goals and allowed 32. That doesn't happen by accident.

Our 4 losses are to Colorado and Chicago who are top of the league, a road loss to Columbus and a loss to Carolina on a goal that bounced off the boards went in off Bernier's foot. Leafs are a great team this year, deal with it.

Goaltending tandem for the Leafs is looking great! Don't know how long they'll be able to stop 40+ shots a night. But a win is a win.

Ashton

Ramo Going into the second period down by one and not two would have held us in this one longer. Another note on Ramo, where did this guy learn to catch a puck? Cause he didn't know how last night.

Powerplay

We look like we are missing Gio, having said that Russell looks pretty awesome.

it's all luck...1967...blah blah blah...corsi...fenwick.

How good does it feel to win and shut everyone up?

On a side note, Calgary now is very similar to the situation Burke inherited in TO. You hired the right guy. I hope you guys turn it around, and Monahan is a beauty to build around.
