Draft day I'll give you it, but the number of times I had to tell UG that Kadri's development was on par with Schenns was too numerous to count, let alone that Kadri looked to have a higher upside. - mykokes
I'll admit, I thought Schenn would be a better overall NHLer because at the time Kadri couldnt defend in his own end.
Kadri rounded out his game and his offense has always been better than Schenns, so now Kadri >>> Schenn.
Still very early in their careers though. |

So the current result of that 2012 3-way deal is Talbot w/Avs; Kyle Quincey in Detroit and G Andrei Vasilevski in Tampa. Looks good for TB
Damn, TB fleeced that |

Just saying I never jumped off the Kadri love train. As for B. Schenn, I think after this draft the Flyers will be back. Even Steve Mason is looking good now....but that defense is really bad (old), and the offense just ain't gelling. Couturier hasn't improved at all since his rookie season, but he's still only 20. |

I would welcome Couts to the Leafs any day of the week, I think he'll be a very good #2C/fringe #1.
But yes I was also one that never wanted Kadri traded, I always wanted him to get his chance to prove himself, but that was impossible with Wilson
I like what Carlyle is doing with him. Same thing he did with Getz in Anaheim |

Man, I liked Schenn a lot too... really hoped he'd develop into a Scott Stevens and be our captain... but it just wasn't in the cards... now, JVR is an untouchable as far as I'm concerned... him and Philthy should retire Leafs... play on the same line forever... until death do them part - SofaKingBored
LOL
This is the funniest thing Ive ever read.
You must have been kidding.
Schenn was never ever going to be anything close to Scott Stevens and sure as hell not Captain material.
I really hope that was joke.

Would you say you're happier now that we have Kadri instead of B Schenn? - SofaKingBored
I was never impressed with Brayden Schenn....always thought he'd become nothing more than a 3rd line centerman. Was actually glad we ended up with Kadri over Schenn at the Draft, simply for the fact that Kadri had a much higher ceiling, not because it would have been cute to have brothers on a team. Schenn might just be one of the most overrated prospects to come out in a while. |

I always thought B. Schenn would struggle to translate his offense into the NHL |

B Schenn had an amazing Jr tourny one year, but I thought he was overhyped.
He will still turn out to be a decent NHL'er. |

He'll translate the offense I think, just won't be a high ceiling. He get's a lot of quiet points, like the assist Kadri got last night. I actually think B. Schenn should be shifted to LW permanently. |

50-55 pt guy, nothing wrong with that. But being drafted 5th overall and having the hype he had, people thought he'd be an 80pt guy |

He was ranked the #1 prospect at one point....extremely overrated....Frederik Gauthier will be just as good, which is where Schenn should have been picked in the draft. |
