outshot 43-22 again and win 4-2 - senstroll
Meh. This is another of those games that was never really in doubt, but the "expert analysts" will be sure to remind us how badly we were outplayed because of the shot count.
This game felt like the one in Edmonton; at 2-0, it was in the bag. At no point did I ever feel lucky to have been winning. |

If the Leafs go .500 the rest of the way they'll finish with 88 points. The teams in the 7-15 range are on pace for less than 82 points.
I'm going to go crazy here and say I think the Leafs might make the playoffs.

Dion looked particularily horrible in his own zone tonight.. Though he did have that nice clear on the PK late, which was clutch.
The rest of the group just looked a little tired perhaps, as they weren't focused.
This having two goalies thing is nice, we should do this every year. |

Gunnarsson looked solid though, he had a roll for sure.
Special teams again coming up huge. top 5 in both categories.
Credit to CGY, they played a pretty hard hockey game.
Now they get a couple days off to think about a big statement game in VAN. These two in Alberta were games we were supposed to win in order to be a playoff team. VAN will be the real challenge before a 5 day break leading up to BOS next Saturday. |

Do you know what's crazy, and I feel weird saying this. Not one team in the east scares me this year. Dun dun dun. Imagine the poopshow if the leafs made it to the final playing this style |

Know the best part about the Leafs record so far?
any guesses?
Haven't played the Sabres or Panthers yet
speaking of which... Florida is in our division and 1st game against is in mid -December. way to go schedulers.
Mabye they were supposed to be in town next Tuesday but got postponed for a Bon Jovi encore performance

Phil and JVR get a couple points each tonight. Clarkson bangs home his first rebound goal (unless Kadri uses his ass again to knock it in and steal his thunder) and Bernie has a good game.
And i will fall down the very steep stairs of the saddledome, spilling beer on the nearest person wearing a flames jersey... by mistake. - TonkaPhaneuf

You are almost as bad as U_G, that is, if you aren't U_G which I think you might be still.
But hey, didn't you say you're calling it quits in November once Gardiner is still dressed? |
|
|
|
Another big win though, keep stashing points in the bank early and it will pay dividence later in the season.
Gardiner played his worst game in a while I thought. Ranger has played his best again for the third game in a row and got rewarded for it.
If the former Norris winner Carlyle says our band of misfit D is going to be okay, I'm with him, especially because they are a damn talented bunch of misfits.
The analysts really have to stfu about shot totals. It's almost like they got so used to picking flaws of the Leafs game they forgot how to commend them on success. |
|

|
why are people worried about Reimer vs the "powerhouse" canucks?
they are averaging 2.73 goals/game, which is tied for 15th. leafs are 3rd with 3.36/gm!!!
nucks are only a +1 in goal differential on the year , and a measly 3-3 at home. Very winnable game in IMHO, these aren't the 2010-2011 nucks, not even close |

I don't mind the term that much he ll only be 36 by then, not like he going to be 40+ - Yeti1181
We forget that players can still be good when they're old. Ehhhh Detroit. Theres nothing wrong with guys like Phaneuf or Kessel taking a spot on the team in their later years while prospects develop in the minors. 7-8 years of Phaneuf could be great. I just hope its for less than he's making right now. |
