Am I the only one who thinks Ferrarro is full of poop calling out our defense?

He's overreacting, just like every other analyst who relies exclusively on the boxscore. Aside from 3-4 legitimately worrying scoring chances, these aren't quality shots.

Our defense keeps them to low percentage areas and our goalies can be counted on to clean up the rest.

He's starting to get some zip on his passes I ve noticed.

Well he's right they don't block a lot of shots and their type cannot continue all year

The defense has been pretty below average in their own zone as a collective entity...outside of the top-pairing of course.

Why not? And I ask this honestly as somebody who has never received a satisfactory answer.

We went out in the off-season and made an investment in our goaltending. We have forwards who have the natural skill to finish in the offensive zone. We have defensemen who allow shots on goal, but who can quickly clean up rebounds and counterattack.

So, why can't this continue? Yeah, we're going to lose some games playing this system, but every system ever employed has failed from time to time. You're always going to lose a few.

Stajan should be penalized for being taken out by Kessel. The shame...
