I don't agree with this at all....but anyway's....

Here's my list of D the Leafs should want over Dion:

Karlson
Subban
Letang
Weber
Doughty
Bouwmeester
Piterangelo (sp?)
Keith
Seabrook
Doughty
Yandle
Suter
Chara
Bieksa (maybe, haha)
Boyle
Kronwall
Ekman-Larson

That's about it probably...

EDIT: My point isn't to rag on Dion but you could throw some money at Franson, lock him up. Then maybe add a UFA like Girardi or Niskanen and I think the team would be better off. Just my opinion.

I agree with about 8 dman on this list over Ph9 - and there is no one else missing. So in my opinion, 8 guys I would take over Dion.

Specifically pointing to Chara, I wouldn't trade Ph9 for him. Because of one big reason, Chara will be 37yrs old before this season is up. I would rather have 6+ more yrs of Ph9 then 1-2 more years of Chara.

I watch Dion every Saturday night!

Don't get me wrong fellas! Dion's game is solid, but I think inking him for 7-8 for 7-8 is not the right move for the Leafs IMO. That's all

Problem is I don't think the Leafs make the playoffs without him and they don't have any internal or external options to replace him that won't cost just as much and potentially top notch assets as well.

Leafs need Ph9.

AHH...back to back nights, missing Kulemin, Fraser. Lupul playing on one foot, Clarkson still very rusty. Wait till the team is healthy!!

By the way - East does suck!

I wouldn't call it luck but it's strange ... I felt as tho I was watching boys against men out there ... Bernier played well

Was it smarter though? Or was it luckier? The Flames had way more, and significantly better chances than the Leafs in that game... but yet again, timely goal scoring and stellar goaltending was the difference.

Is this a long-term formula for success?

It's worked for 62 games (minus some loses) so far. All of last year and this year we have been 'lucky'.

I wouldnt blame Ramo for that one...Bernier is to blame if anything...that game should have ended much closer or in favor of the Flames if you ask me, given how the Leafs were playing for a good part of the game.

If you want to assign blame... wtf was hartley thinking pulling the goalie that early, while on a PP, and applying lots of pressure?

Might have cost the team a point or 2.

Giving a team that's really good at clearing the puck on the PK an empty net to shoot at... dumb idea.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing...should have finished the PP with an extra man and not roll the dice...there was still enough time.
