I know it takes time for the majority of the players to get it all figured out, but look at what the Leafs did with Kadri, why can't we do the same with Yakupov? We can send him down to work on his effort and find his scoring touch again, he isn't really adding anything positive on the ice right now.

A few on twitter stated and I agree... Everyone forgets that Yak has yet to play a full 82 games yet... If he does one less move with the puck and just makes it more simplified- and keeps on shooting good things will happen... I like his scoring chances last night... I liked a lot of the scoring chances last night- just played too much risk reward... (frank) what did they hit 3 posts??? and somehow Reimer was out of this world last night- I have to say some of those chances/saves were sheer (frank)ing luck I could not believe they did not go in for us... poor Bachman - 2 games played with no team offense... he played well tho I thought- could have been 7-0

Can't really argue with that. I still want him up with the Oilers. I'm not even sure why. I think because I'm more worried he would be a bust or something. Like...it freaks me out and is even more depressing, the thought of K-poo being sent down.

I know, I have that fear as well. My thought is that we are at that point in which we have let the defensemen (Klefbom & Nurse) grow in the minors, why can't we sacrifice one offensively-gifted winger do it finally? Outside of Eberle playing an extra year in the minors that is.

Here's an idea, why not put Yakupov down to OKC, put Jultz on the wing, and bring up Larsen to fill his spot on the d-line? Whats the worst that could happen? Perhaps we continue loosing, but maybe by closer scores?

The stats are usually right, but obviously not 100% or even 90% of the time. The Leafs seem to be an advanced statistical anomaly and I think most people have accepted that. To completely dismiss the stats is just as ignorant as people who are still waiting for the Leafs to become a lottery team this season.

The top 5 teams in Fenwick(when the score is close):

1. MIN
2. CHI
3. PIT
4. SJ
5. LA

The Worst:

1. BUF
2. TOR
3. WSH
4. CAR
5. EDM

Outside of Minnesota(who have had mediocre goaltending and a lack of finish) and Toronto(very solid goaltending and seem to have nearly perfected a system where they simply have much higher quality shots than their opponents on a nightly basis). The rest of the teams look just about right to me.

- Nucker101

you have valid points. As a nucks fan, while you can appreciate (like i can people hate our teams) it is a little tiring when people cling to things like the stats thrown at leafs. It's funny, these stats or waiting for TO's 'luck' to run out is getting quieter...almost as quiet as everyone on this site with the whole ' nice kessel trade "

The leafs have their warts like every team, it's just funny ppl think THIS team sucks because our franchise has been a joke for years.

That just how reimer plays he seem to be fairly consistent but when he has a bad game holy (frank) does he poop the bed.

he was instrumental in every Leaf goal! not only -4, but seriously, he was flat footed, watching the play on three of the goals and on his belly for one of them. I play more D and am more responsible on Friday morning skates after a bender the night before! He's brutal.

a 19 year old kid is struggling defensively at the NHL level with less than a full year under his belt? Kids horrible, bail on Nail. Worst. Player. Ever.

Belov and Schultz pinching was what really sunk the Oilers. They hung out Bachman and the d-partner like crazy.

But then the SNet panel would blame it on Yakupov. "You see, Yakupov is the deep man here when Schultz comes in but Yakupov doesn't identify he needs to be the guy to cover the D" and then he was like a stride off catching Kessel after passing everyone else on the ice and they're like "he doesn't backcheck hard"

WTF? The deep guy covers the Dman? GTFO.

I was excited over the Bachman signing, and am glad he has been playing as well as he has. Especially when he faced 47 shots against the Kings in his season debut!!!

I know he hasn't hit a full 82-game mark yet, but we can all see him trying to do too much. I just think it would be great to send him down for, say, 10 games? Give him that time to relax, get his mind back to playing simple hockey, and then hopefully he gets back to being golden.

I want this to be the excitement:

heads up for people with kids or jailbait

A city police officer is reminding parents to keep an eye on their kids this Halloween after he saw a known sex offender decorating his house for trick or treaters.

According to Edmonton city police Const. Dexx Williams, the home is located in central Edmonton. This particular offender is wearing an ankle bracelet and has conditions not to approach children.

But in this case, Williams said children will be coming to the offender, which is why police will be keeping a watchful eye — something parents should do with their children wherever they go on Halloween to make sure the fun festivities don’t turn into an opportunity for a predator.

The worse thing is only Yak and Gazdic covered for d-men that I saw. Sure maybe Yak should've been the guy to be back, but what kind d-man pinches when Yak is the guy that should cover them?

Meh I'm not worried about that. I'm more worried about the fact the D is pinching when the Oilers have 4 guys hashmarks and lower and immediately lose possession.

Is it not possible for something to be posted on a house that identifies these people? Not something like a giant sign, but maybe some sort of cool symbol on the front door, just so kids are aware of this?

I was free to roam my neighbourhood on Halloween without my parents by age 10. Mind you, it was a group of 4 or 5 of us, but those were a simpler time. Back when the Bare Naked Ladies were popular along with Great Big Sea.

I like this. I mean things are snowballing and getting so magnified now so it is positive to see a hopeful objective reminder.
At any rate the Oilers do lack resolve.
How many Oilers does is take to screw in a lightbulb though?

For sure on the risk/reward. Graze a post; four players below the redline including Justin Shultz and boom you give one of the most opportunistic teams in the league another odd man rush.

Would not be surprised to see Ryan Smyth back in line-up in Florida next week and @hallsy04 in the mix for the game in Philadelphia

Don't have a hot clue as to what is going on with Jesse Joensuu. Hopefully @DP_57 is a short term thing. He's provided much needed compete

So the consensus is "hold off. Dont do anything drastic cause we might regret it. Let this season play out as she's pretty much cooked anyway and hope that we at least finish in respectable position".

Not sayin it's wrong. Just curious if thats where most of us are at.

You may as well play through it and get a higher pick as possible really. As painful as it is for the fans, it's the best outcome. Try and get Ekblad. If you really wanna push it, do the same for McDavid and then surely you guys have a dynasty happening Not trolling, i just don't see the point of finishing 20th when you can finish 29th (apart from the fans)

Poop man - you know it's bad when we're reaching for Jultz to go to the wing.
Interesting though...

I do want to see Larssen play.
