With the pleasant surprise of stanton and how good it appears corrado will be its time to flog edler.

If kesler is going to be a winger and the power forward we have needed since bert left, edler should be traded for a potential or legit second line center. As a thought could we not do this

Alex Edler and Jannick Hansen

for

Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds

Maybe our side may need a bit more but maybe not. Our lineup is

Sedin Sedin Kesler
Burrows Schenn Simmonds
Higgins Santo Kassian
Whoever Richardson Whoever

Hamhuis Tanev
Garrison Bieksa
Stanton Corrado

Lu

Seriously a better Team slot in shinkurauk and horvat next year

- The_Kuze

Doubt Edler waives for PHI.

Would probably have to be a contender for one of the 4 with NTCs to waive.

Agreed. But I wouldn't get my hopes up too much for the youth next year.

Hopefully one of them makes it, but I wouldn't bet on one cracking the top6.

My guess is one or two might make a case for the bottom 6, which will still be a huge help.

Vinny is signed for 4 years at a decent cap hit. Depending on whether he can still put up 50+ points in 4 years, of course, which is a gamble.

He'd be a great veteran to help the youth learn the game....but they'd most definitely have to give up some of that youth to acquire him, which probably isn't worth it.

We've won 5 in a row and you guys are busy making up stupid trades?

Depends on what the plan is for our youth next year. This could be a be patient year.
- VANTEL

Starting to think that myself. Rather keep the picks and young players and sign a top 6 forward via free agency and the prospects in junior now will all be a year older as well. Makes more sense from an asset management standpoint but if MG has a short leash he can't afford to think that far ahead.

We'll see though, if the team surprises and keeps up it's current pace then a rental addition makes more sense.

I think Hunter makes it as top 6 and Bo makes third line.

Hearing Torts saying he hopes Archie steals someone's job ( Sestito) that could be another youth injection.

It's a Tuesday night without the team playing and we're Canuck fans.

When did I make up a stupid trade?

It's 14 games in and the Canucks have zero top6 forward depth.

5 games in a row or not, this team isn't a serious contender without additions.

Corrado will be a lock next year too IMO. Wouldn't count out Jensen or Gaunce.

Shinkaruk didn't look close to being a regular top6er in the NHL.

He'd need to take some serious physical and developmental strides to do so.

Highly doubt he makes it next season. And since he's AHL eligible because of his early birthday, I'd guess that's where he'll be, with maybe a call up or two.

I'd say Horvat has the better chance next season, since it's either the NHL or CHL for him, and he can fit in the bottom 6.

Archie shows some promise for the bottom6, but really hasn't had enough time or responsibility in his 2 games to make a proper evaluation.

Lecavelier just signed a 5 year deal in Philly, they aren't trading him.

We don't need a 2nd line, we've got the best 1st line in hockey playing half the game. All is needed is two third lines that play as 2a and 2b.

I guess you missed the part where I wrote "pipe dream" at the bottom of my post.

I disagree about not needing a 2nd line.

And I hope this is one if your sarcastic homer jokes.

Someone called into the team today and suggested the name west coast express 2 for the Sedin/kesler line.

ok.

Fair enough.

I'll have to start hitting it harder before I can believe this team can contend without a 2nd line.

Everytime I check the hockey pool, I get a roster alert that Bozak is getting dumped from other yahoo fantasy league teams like Lindsay Lohan gets dumped by PR representation. 1322 teams and counting.

Anyone want him?

- Chest Rockwell

Kadri has a real opportunity there to take over that 1C job if he plays well while Bozak is out. For the 2 years playing on that line with Kessel and Lupul Bozak's high watermark was only 47 points
