No clue. I wasn't a fan, but I hope he gets an opportunity to finish his career on his own terms.
- DrChristianTroy

Agreed, though I have my doubts he will be able to rekindle his career.

Sekeres had some rumour the other day about Lu to the Isles.

If it were true I would like Lu Hansen for Gabner Clutterbuck Nabokov.

Sedin Sedin Kesler
Higgins Santorelli Grabner
Burrows Richardson Clutterbuck
Archibald Welsh Kassian

- VANTEL

Would be nice, but we've had this debate all summer long. We'd be fortunate for the Isles to simply do a goalie swap IMO.

Sounds like former #canuck Ryan Johnson is back with the team. This time he'll be helping with the organization's player development.

Good for him, great leadership when he was here. And a good faceoff man.

Agreed. I think his value-add to this team was under-rated.

Ugh... As long as recapture is part of NHL reality, we can't even think about trading Luongo. Keep him forever or buy him out at the end of this season.

Unfortunately, no. Not after refusing to buy him out last year & trading Schneider @ the draft.

Darren Dreger said He expects the Sabers to flip Moulson at the deadline. I would LOVE that guy in a Canucks Sweater.

I would agree on the surface. You never know what lurks underneath or how the relationship continues to evolve. It is one year less to pay out and provides a chance to see if Eddie Lack is future starting material.

Moulson is hugely overrated because of playing with Tavares his whole career.

AlexF posted the stats on how many of his points were with Tavares the other day.

**waits for someone to mention how he potted two last night as evidence he can score on his own**

Is Santorelli and Burrows strong enough to carry a second line? Who should be the third player?

Does that mean Daniel is overrated too then? How many of his points were with Hank

Agreed, but I actually think we could do both. The Top6er will likely require one of our top 4 D going the other way, whether we like it or not. If we're talking Edler or Hamhuis then that deal can probably be made straight up (ie no picks or prospects included).

For Ott, Buffalo seems to be hoarding those picks and prospects. I understand that next year's draft pool is fairly weak, whereas 2015 is seen as very strong. Therefore we could theoretically trade one or some of our 2014 picks without including any of our 2015 ones.

So what would that look like. Something like:

Edler for Top6 playmaker
Ott for a 2nd + two 4ths (all 2014)

- AlexF

As much as I'd like it if it got the Canucks a legit top 6er, I don't see any of the four with NTCs being traded this season. I'll bet my location and avatar on it.

Not only do the NTCs make it difficult, but any contender that any of them would likely waive for can't sacrifice the roster player(s) the Canucks would need to warrant trading any of them.

MG isn't going to take a package only consisting of futures after that's really all he got for Schneider.

Are you comparing Daniel to Moulson?

Watch the two. Daniel has a much more rounded skillset.

Moulson's got a decent shot, and ok speed. He's a better version of Booth.

Not worth Kassian, like someone suggested, and not worth a 1st.

I'd be alright if the could get him for scraps.

I think I read he had 120 goals in the last 4 years? That sounds pretty consistent .
St.louis and Stamkos Kessel and Lupul, Sedin and Sedin . H ow good is Kunitz without Sid . Takes two to tango.

Doubt it as well, but I respect him for not giving up. I'm sure he could have easily landed an assistant/associate job on any of his former teams and make decent bucks the easy way.

To be brutally honest, I thought he sucked outside of blocking shots and eventually getting injured.

He's actually scored at every level he's played, there's obviously some merit to the Tavares comments, but the guy can score goals. The reference was that Tavares was "on the ice" for "X" amount of his goals. How many goals has Hank been on for Daniels goals? Is he nothing without Henrik...you get what I mean with that reference.
