Top 5 at his position, ya for sure. But for me, elite is top 7 in the league! I don't see him as that yet
- Fakepartofme

As far as RW goes, he's up at the top. Him, St. Louis, Kane, etc.

Top 7 in the league?! So, Getzlaf, Thornton, Weber, Perry, and Kane aren't elite? What about Nash, Chara, and (arguably) Lundqvist or Giroux?

You're leaving out a ton of talent if you'll only accept 7 players.

I said it all along... even mentioning trading Reimer should get you punched in your ovaries...
- SofaKingBored

No one intelligent ever said to trade reimer after less than 20 games.
He's played well tonight against a team who's been playing horrible, don't wet yourself yet.

Boys doing a good job boxing out the Oilers tonight. Kind of like pushing around your kid brother, but to be commended nonetheless.

Nash is the most overrated player in the league.

Which is what makes them elite!..... There's not a lot of them.

Not at all.

Don't get me wrong, I like Bozak.

But at 4.2m and as a 1C he's severely overpaid/overused.

His defensive play is good to have, but thats what you ask from your 3C, not your 1C (unless the 1C can bring it in addition to superior offensive skill, such as Toews, Datsyuk etc)...

If you were look historically at past successful scoring lines they generally consists of two dominant forwards and not three. The problem with leaving Kadri on the first lines it somewhat handcuffs Lupul. At this point the Leafs are better in spreading the offense leaving the first line production to Kessel and JVR and second line producting to Lupul and Kadri. Bozak and Clarkson offer the intangibles needed to make those lines work and I say this not being a huge Bozak fan. It's just what we currently have to work with. Also this leaves us with a very strong third line in Kulemin, Bolland and Raymond. The fourth line then consists of McClement who is our specialists and throw on Orr/McLaren with one of the kids like Ashton or Leivo. I like it.

Not Kadri? But but ....
- honesthockey

Sorry, but Kadri has two assists in this game. And again, why has Kessel produced 13 goals in 14 gp not playing with Bozak?

Very good, he is the starter this game. By the end of the year he'll be our back up.
- Fakepartofme

Bernier = 3.40, .899 in his last 5 games.

Before we call Reimer a backup, maybe Bernier can do something he's never done in his career and prove he can be a starter.

Don't look now, but the guy who was thrown under the bus is now the starter again... It's going to be a battle all year.

I remember telling people that the situation wouldn't become clear until at least 30 games in, but they had cast him off after game 2.

- Leeman4Gilmour

People were way too hasty. I've been with you on this issue so far this year. I do like certain things about Bernier (rebound control, puck handling, etc) but Reimer gets the job done regardless. This looks like a legit 1A and 1B situation.
