Ott for Bozak!

JVR-Kadri-Kessel
Lupul-Bolland-Clarkson
Kulimen-Ott-Raymond
Orr-Mcclement-Fraser

I like that lineup even though I don't like Ott haha.

- markmark

Kadri has a real chance to steal that #1C job right now. I hope he wins it and runs with it. This would be a much better team with Bozak as the 3C.

exactly... offer him 5.5/year for the max number of years(8?) or offer him 7/year for 5 years.

let him chose.

if his choice is not to sign to one of those type of options, then let him test free agency.... with the reputation he has (most overrated which I don't think makes any sense) he won't get many really lucrative offers unless they for teams that are weak.

- BorjeFan4Ever

I doubt that. It would be a slug-feast to land him in the off season if he rejects Toronto outright, which he won't because Nonis isn't an idiot. I can understand the desire to trade the guy and if Nonis could find the right deal... Obviously the biggest concern is the contract rather than the player.

In other news, Stempniak has a broken foot and Giordano has a broken ankle; tomorrow may be one of the more straightforward back-to-back games ever played (assuming that the D doesn't forget how to skate)...

Picked him up at the perfect time in my pool to milk those points, now back to FA.

EDIT: I love how you quoted the date on the location too!

I know I'm late to the party, but I have to say this anyway.

He's a Leaf for the past 3+ seasons and he's a shadow of the player who signed the big 6.5milly contract, the most overrated player in the league as voted by his peers, and his contract is choking the Leafs options under the cap.....

Now he's played well for the first 11 games of his contract year and he's all of a sudden irreplaceable, logs big minutes, shuts down the best player in the world, and is worth being the the 3rd highest paid defenceman in the league (world?).

From what I've seen, he has played his best hockey as a Leaf to start this season, and I wonder where this was vs Boston last year. He's a great 2way D-man up to about 23 minutes a game. After that, he becomes a complete mess.

The Leafs can't replace what he gives them in a trade or on the UFA market next year, but how long is he going to keep this level of play up after he's guaranteed 50+mill through age 36? Not very long is what I'm worried about.

The logical option, IMO, is to cash out on him in a trade; the league's perception of him as a player will never be higher. The Leafs could get a young D with Dion potential, plus a pick or more, and it frees up 6.5 million in cap space they can use to improve the team with a trade deadline rental player and/or UFAs in the off-season.

Well Dion realizes he'll get $7 mill per on the open market. So it's basically up to the Leafs, take or leave it. Like or hate Dion, that is the market & Dion will get it, either in TO or somewhere else.

According to Corsi the Leafs should be finishing in 30th place. Than they can draft Connor McDavid. Mabie Corsi should be the GM since McDavid & Leaf prospect Conner Brown play together for Erie in the OHL & they have awesome chemistry.
