CGY has more than enough cap space that we really shouldn't have to eat too much, if any of his salary.

They are in a position where they're doing well enough that they can't afford to lose ground. They should be smart and just take him off our hands.

flames realistically should just stay the course.

play all their young guys and AHL guys - no need to bring anyone in.

end up with a quality pick and continue the rebuild.

thats my honest opinion, and id love them to take liles but it really would be foolish unless they can get a decent prospect back as well that would be worth grooming into a slot for them in the future.

Oh for sure...but if Nonis is willing to give the Flames added youth/prospect/pick to take on Liles, sure what the hell! They dont have too many NHL ready prospects to jump in right now.

Depends on the pick.

If no salary is taken by Toronto then I'd say a 3rd is ok, but we gave up 2nds for Bolland and Bernier so it'd be wise for the Leafs to see about re-couping a pick at some point.

Perhaps make the pick sent to CGY a third and if the Flames somehow make the playoffs then the Leafs get a pick back.

Actually Grabo made many a failed attempts to gain the zone on his own, and simply didn't think of what he wanted to do with the puck so he'd either pinch it along the boards or lose it just inside the blueline.

This is exactly what he's looking at from Edmonton IMO. I know he's not ideally a #1 DMan but really what are the Leafs supposed to do? Let him walk? And if so, who do they replace him with? Unless they have a possible deal or they know of a guy available, they got to sign him! Number 1 Defensemen are not exactly growing on trees.

i really find it annoying that at least sportsnet O or TSN or TSN2 cant pick at least 1 non leaf NHL game when they dont play to air....
