I really hope some team bites on Volchenkov while he's not playing like complete crap.

We're one point away from being 2nd in the Metro division. We're so good this year!

That's ryder's game, he's unnoticeable until he gets that one chance. And I agree on Henrique. I know our powerplay has been clicking recently but I wonder if we should split up Jagr and Elias and try to make two more even powerplay units especially now that we have Gelinas.

I think Jagr and Elias are fine together, they just need someone to compliment them better than Ryder does. Personally I would mix up the PP units quite a bit, but by moving Ryder to the 2nd unit, it gives that group a huge threat for opposing teams

Now, I can't believe I'm saying this, and don't burn me at the stake here or anything for it, but Zid had a damn good game tonight...

maybe he's on the upsi...I'll just stop there.

Now I know why Zid is playing some decent offensive hockey.

It's Olympics year...

One of the more surprising things is that Brunner is making Zubrus look useful out there.

There's still much to be desired here, but the team really looks like they have the parts to be decent and are slowly putting it together.

Yeah when the announcers were talking about how difficult it was for Jagr to learn our system, leads me to believe it's that way for the new guys as well. I think the deeper we get into the season the better these guys will get.
I'd still like to see more from Zajac though, he was almost invisible last night.
Is there any reason he hasn't had a SOG the last two games?!

He isn't talented enough offensively. I used to get mad that he was only likely capable of potting 20 goals and 40 assists now I really question if he has the ability to score 20 and what happens to him if he plays 82 games this season and ends up with 15 goals and 30 assists ? you can't being making 6 million dollars for that type of production I don't care what you are doing on the other side of the puck. How much does Jay Mcclement make a season I assure you it's no where near what Zajac is going to be making for the next 8 years.

Guy is just funny as hell I would love for him to sign a one year extension with us or just resign with us since it doesn't seem like he will be hanging them up at the end of the year.

Agreed..for the money he's making he shouldn't just be a shut down forward. We have had those in Maddog and Pandolfo and they certainly didn't make that much. I said before that zajac was only an offensive threat due to playing with the likes of ZZ pops line and Kovi. They made him better. The fact that he is playing against other teams top forward lines Is also not going to result in serious offensive numbers...but whatever....keep the lineup and lines as in and don't mess with what's working. If he is gonna be a shut down center...o well...not our money spent to make him play that.

The money isn't an issue now nor should it be if the cap rises as much as some say it will. The thing will be tha yes he will be overpaid but if it ever comes where we can't sign that one missing piece or resign a good player because of that contract then it will get ugly but for the time being he will just have to be the highest paid third line center since I think Stastny has been playing second line center with O'Reilly on the wing.

Has there been any update on Clowe's status he was eligible to come of IR for last nights game (he obviously wasn't) I haven't been able to find anything and the reporters don't seem to be asking Pete in the interviews I have watched.

I'd like to see Zajac center Elias/Jagr, those two will make anyone better.

I would like to see Zajac making guys better since he is getting paid like someone who should be doing that anyways.

I hope this just isn't a stop in his trip around the nhl lol I would love to have him back next year and hopefully he loves it here and wants to finally stick somewhere instead of moving every year.

I'd welcome him back with open arms. He's been invaluable to us so far. From everything we hear and read he seems to be great in the room too. Fantastic pick up by Lou. Where would we be without him?
