Those Islander fans are an interesting bunch. I really have to remember not to bother to comment in their threads. What I should have said is Vanek is the best winger of the last 20 years, Moulson is a bum and those two draft picks mean nothing even if Vanek doesn't sign. Oh and Garth Snow is clearly the top GM in the NHL. |

I'm worried about the Devils not paying the price in the first ten minutes of this game and being down 2 before we can blink. |

hey man not tryig to be rude but barberio is a defenseman,
top 3 lines are good to go. the right wingers could switch but its always like that so thats fine,
4th line : P.C labrie, thompson, crombeen
DEFENSE:
Matt Carle - Radko Gudas
Sami Salo - Victor Hedman
andrej sustr- Eric Brewer
not sure if you care enough to change it or not, doesnt bother me...just letting you know! - RileyB77
I haven't seen Tampa yet this year. What do Sustr and Gudas bring to the table?

Worked pretty damn good last game . This game could go many ways. I personally like our chances but like I said earlier this is a team then can torch you 6-0. |

sustr is an undrafted guy from NCAA hockey, he had many teams after him but chose tampa because i heard he wanted to play right away and other things of course but that was a biggy. nobody expected him to come in and play, i expected him to be in the ahl lol. he has come up huge for this year. with sustr you can expect a swift skating defenseman who is extremely calm and capable of making good plays out of our end, winning battles in the corner with his 6'8 frame, he has stunned most of the lightning fanbase with what he has accomplished thus far, i think everybody expected it, just not this quick
gudas is a freight train....but the aspect that gets EXTREMELY overlooked is his ability to make the calm right play. gudas has an amazing way of being patient and looking relaxed and making the right play, pass on the tape..look for that, but also of course look for his hip checks |

This is a repost so forgive me if you've already read it, but it's fiting since Zidlicky is a topic:
Despite his offensive production Zidlicky is still a negative player, and rightfully so. He's horrible defensively (which is hilarious since he's a defenseman), and he will probably finish this year like he finished last year as a team leader in stupid minor penalties. Does he occasionally show flashes of an offensive touch? Yes. Is it enough to outweight the negatives? In my opinion it isn't.
That's why I hate on Zid and will continue to until he is no longer one of NJ's biggest liabilities.
My disdain for Zidlicky is only further amplified by Gelinas, who deserved a spot out of camp in the first place, and who in my opinion makes Zidlicky expendable.
This is only my opinion, but I'd be suprised if some other NJ fans didn't feel the same. I cringe everytime he touches the puck. Especially if NJ has the momentum, because he most certainly will kill it with a tripping, hooking, or delay of game penalty.
If he was half-way decent defensively, I'd probably like the guy a little more. But whenever the opposition gets a PP just after we tied the game or when we're down by 1 goal with 5 mins left, there's Zidlicky to rescue...for them. |

Gudas is the man, easily becoming TB's best defensemen in terms of what he brings to the ice & what I like to watch.
I wish NJ had a hard-nosed guy like him who actually produces & plays dependable two-way hockey. Instead the closest we have is Volchenkov. But he's slower, less durable, and brings no offense. So yeah...we don't have anyone like that in NJ. |

Bishop is solid, but he can give up a softie here and there. Brodeur can give up 3-4 softies.
Lightning 4
Devils 1
Of course I have Bisop in fantasy so I'm a little biased. |

I know Santini is a defensive stud but anyone know if he is a big time body checker or what style of defense does he play? Be nice if he was the hard nosed bone crushing type with speed. |
