You can't have guys kicking at pucks in the crease....this isn't ball hockey.
- stormey

Well then don't allow the guys to be into the crease.

As it should be...

Sure.
But kicking is a non-starter. Wouldn't be long until there was another Malarchuk situation.

anything off a skate...no goal. These guys are so good that they know exactly what they are doing. If a goal goes off a skate...for the most part it's on purpose.

Same with anything off the body then, so if it doesn't go directly in the net from players stick then it shouldn't count.

I always really loved that guy and thought he wasn't producing to an elite level in Columbus...

Since he's in NY, I'm starting to thinks he's a bit overrated. He really didn't impress so far.

Stormey, the puck glides on the ice, hits a skate, and you wanna call it a no goal?

That's just ridiculous.

It really shouldn't matter how the puck goes in, as long as the player is not kicking the puck. The kicking part is only a safety concern anyways.

Yeah, I think with the call we've seen both in the case of Galchenyuk and Zibanejad is you are allowed to direct the puck into the net, as long as you skate remains on the ice.

But kicking is a no-no.

Yep, it really isn't hard to understand. But it gives fans of the team that got scored on a reason to whine and complain about what a "kick is".
