I'm curious as to what the guy said to convince him that Wild Turkey was the thing to buy.
- HuileHab

Not much, he told me it was a great beginner liquor...I was ready to pay 50$ for a bottle but he sold me Wild Turkey at 20$...I was a little confused but if it's not good I'll just mix it with coke and go buy another bottle.

Went to the SAQ last friday. Asked a guy for liquor advice and he made me chose between Canadian Club 12 and Wild Turkey 81...went with the later one. Had a glass so far...don't know if I'll ever get used to liquor taste...

Oh, and a guy I know (ex master brewer at "La Barberie") is opening his own brewery in Charlesbourg, it will be called "Brasserie générale". I'll tell you if it's any good once they start producing.

Should have followed his advice. Got the Buffalo Trace bourbon, and I'm loving it so far. Like you, I'm not very used to liquoe taste... yet.

Glenlivet 12 is a pretty good start I think. At least that's what I have at home and I like it.

Canadian club or Wild Turkey.... could always used them in drinks I guess..

Not exactly the best option to "get used to the taste of hard liquor".

SAQ advisers always seem to be the worst at their job...it's (frank)ing sad especially since the prices are so (frank)ing high. They should be able to afford good (frank)ing employees or at least a poopload of training for them to become any good.

I don't really care what name he used...as long as the beer he makes is good (which I hope it will)...

I think Bourbon would be the last choice to start with if you want to get used to the taste of straight hard liquor.

Can you drink your Rum Straight? maybe try a Rye next, then go Cognac or Irish Whiskey, and work your way up to scotch
