Cool, retire. I didn't like the $6 signing, but didn't have a credible alternative. He seems like he's pacing himself which for a team fighting for a borderline spot at best to get into the post season doesn't cut it.
- jstross

To be honest, I kind of don't blame him if he doesn't bust his ass. He has done so for many years, and the current team put together has minimal chances at winning the cup.

I also have to say, as a big Meszaros fan, the guy looks pretty bad.

Perhaps if they dressed a 4th line that could (frank)ing play the sport of (frank)ing hockey, they wouldn't look so gassed.

G still playing on the perimeter doesn't help...

A game like this just points out how painfully slow many of the Flyers are.

Timo, Grossmann, L Schenn all looked like they were playing in the 10th overtime. Up front Coots seemed the slowest to me. But that's in comparison to the other slow guys, so he must REALLY be slow.

There's no way around it. They gotta get faster and quicker players, and lose some of this slowness.

Really?

I thought Mez looked impressive for a guy being benched for five games.

Timonen played the fewest minutes of any defenseman for the Flyers tonight.

I didn't want to say it, but this is just the simple truth.

I lurked today, saw the jokes about how Jay Rosehill's limited minutes can't cost you a game.

Sure they can. Because you're playing 10.5 forwards vs. their 12, and even when they start to double-shift Getzlaf and Perry, they could still run through their lines and play their fourth line in unprotected situations, so they could catch a breather...then go right back to double-shifting.

Jay Rosehill doesn't have to be in the box to get you beat. He just has to be dressed.

Kind of poopty, but it is what it is. I question the forwards a lot too. They have far too many guys that are so poopty at handling the puck or doing anything creative with it, let alone accepting a pass.

Just a friendly, sick reminder that this is the most expensive NHL d-core currently in the league.

He should be benched till he's fully healthy.

If not longer.

He's nowhere near as effective as he was last season. He's not drawing as many penalties as he's taking, he's undisciplined and he's still a lousy possession player.

On the first Anaheim goal, Grossmann had a horrid turnover. Rosehill was drifting in the slot and failed to even attempt to pick up Cogliano, who scored.

I love the guy, he has a huge heart, but unless he finds a way to deliver a big hit he is useless out there.

Teams seem to be starting to figure out, to keep their heads up when he is on the ice.

schenn went from being the best player not in the nhl to the worst player in the nhl faster than it should be possible to do so. this game was lost in the 2nd period. i hope they see how far they really are losing a 2-0 lead on home ice to a team missing 4 top players. if you think this loss was a good sign you're sniffing glue
- hogweed

When B Schenn is your 2nd line center your in trouble. No other way around it now.

Whoever said it said it best when you'd hope that Cooter and B Schenn would show glimpses of being real good players. Its just few and far between. Cooter is going to be a great 3rd line center for years to come. B Schenn just isnt a dynamic player

Then he's a guy I don't want anywhere near my team. Energy guys are supposed to bring the team up when it sags. If all he does is be a passenger, then he should be gone.

Mez played pretty well, I thought.

If Gus plays I'd sit Grossmann.

The Flyers are playing better, but they need G to start scoring before even think about becoming a playoff team.
