I feel a Khabbibulin DUI in the offing. He's probably halfway through a bottle of Stoli by now...maybe that gets him off the payroll?

Right now Rocky's paying off a cop to pull him over.

Mills has looked pretty solid too.
- EKolb13

Pleasantly surprised by him. Good speed, size and makes the simple plays. Looks pretty dece at the dot too.

Unnamed Source already has his Hawk jersey...so it will probably happen at the TDL if not before.

Nope, not many shots he won't take, but at least he gets them on net. I'd like to just see Q leave him on that third line for a bit and see what he does with the opportunity.
- RetiredGoalie

Morin and Mills are not going anywhere soon.

Pirri either. I don't mind taking him off late in the game there. He was out there for Kane's blunder, you don't want to have something else silly happen...you know....to get Un named all excited....

Kane turnover was brutal. Just can't turn the puck over like that.
- RetiredGoalie

Horrifically LAZY AND CARELESS...just when we thought Kaner was 'maturing' defensively....-9 coming in and then he pulls the pin on the grenade in his own zone, seconds after the Hawks FINALLY took a 2 goal lead.
BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTAL TURNOVER.

Gets them on net and generally shoots low leaving chances for rebounds. I agree, Morin, Shaw and Bicks have looked good on the third line.

Bulls have 58 nearing the end of the 3rd...but down PLENTY
- philco28

But Phil...

...all I heard on the radio today was how the Bulls are gonna roll the Heat on ring night.

With his line mates. Throwing the puck at the net will lead to a lot of chances for those guys.

Hopefully she's tucked the little jerk in for the night so we don't have to suffer anymore of his posts.

Its the way it goes some times Phil. It seems every bad pass Kane makes ends up in the net. I like his effort on the defensive end these days. As long as that happens, results will come for him.
- Elbows15

True Elbows...thing is...Kaner's turnover was a MENTAL ERROR more than it was physical. Not thinking, head down, throwing the puck up the middle and just seconds after we get the insurance goal.

Pirri's made some mistakes, but he's had some good moments too. Couple of goals early on and a few helpers as well. Again, I'd like to see Q stick with him for a little while at the #2 center spot instead of dropping him up and down the lineup. They've been talking about his potential for the last 2 or 3 years, so to me, now's the time to see if he has a future with the big club or not. Of course, it's easy to stick with a guy and live with his mistakes when you're winning, not so easy if you're not. I guess that's why they pay Q to make those decisions, while I sit on my sofa and give my unsolicited advice.

Almost like throwing a tantrum because he didn't get on the scoresheet with everyone else.

Wow...old man Jagr scored... on a breakaway...when Marty St. Louis fanned on a shot...

And to think the Hawks lost to the Lightning twice

And Kaner had a ton of chances tonight...but missed the net and was stopped a few times by Andy as well....just can't commit a turnover like that RIGHT AFTER we get the 2 goal lead.

I do too...but in a Helter Skelter game with 90 ticks left nursing a 1 goal lead ?????
He's got a HELLUVA lot of confidence in them.

- philco28

And the 4 the line knowing Q had confidence in them - and then succeeding in keeping Ottawa out of the net in a one goal game - will pay dividends going forward.

He either plays 2C or he goes down. The bottom lines are set imo. Juggling that creates more nonsense.

Pirri is a smart player, he will figure out the defensive side of the puck. His size does not help him, but still can be real effective. To hyperbolize about his mistakes as glaring and costly at this point is askew. Granted he has more at stake, but there are plenty of blunders being made by others. If one were honest, he makes no more bad plays than half the other forwards each night. I know he is the one auditioning, but so far has not cost the team a goal.

Q was asked about Khabby and kept his responses pretty noncommittal. It will be very telling with the Hawks having back to back games coming up this weekend if Crawford plays both games. Konroyd and Boyle talking about Raanta. Apparently, he's won three in a row with a ridiculous goals against of .989 or something like that. With Crawford signed to big money for the next 6 years, if Raanta turns into a real player, it's hard to envision where he fits in the Hawks long term plans. I guess that will play out in due time.

Slow down, how bout getting the guy a cup of coffee with the Hawks. How bout feeling good about where he is and allow him to mature to the game here.

Why is it that when talking about a new guy, many jump ahead to 3 years from now?

Lets get to the weekend before we start the CC for Getlaff trade talk...

Agreed. He plays the #2 spot you've been groom him for for the last few years. If he can't play the position up to the standards they expect, then maybe it's time to give him an opportunity elsewhere. Dropping him up and down the lineup or limiting him to 7 or 8 minutes a game while keeping him off the ice in crunch time every game is not going to help his development or the cohesiveness of the lines.
