Totally, considering guys like Phanuef will command 7+ on the open market, Erhoff aint too shabby as a 38 year old.

I acknowledged that it's not perfect form to do that.

But also I was making a broader point: Nearly every team in the league has a guy or two that's overpaid for what they're delivering. In that sense, doesn't Ehrhoff's contract look comparably better?

He may not be what the Oilers need, but I find it tough to say that a guy who plays number 1 minutes on any team and doesn't do so horribly is overpaid at 4m.

LA doesn't need N.Schultz they have Mitchell and Regehr. The point of them moving a guy is to open up a spot for a rookie. I believe Pearson, so more than likely they are trading for picks or prospects.
