yea guy 9th in league scoring his 3rd year in the league is definitely just an average to good player, how do you even function in everyday life being so obviously handicapped? Do you have someone that follows you around to tighten up your helmet and wipe your ass after you take a dooky?

From here on out, it's actually not that bad a contract.

Many dmen play until they're 38 and 4million dollars for an able-bodied top 4 defenseman will never be overpaying again.

The big WTF was the front loading, but you've payed that out now.

I've been embarrassed in recent years. Grew up a young man and saw the Oilers bring home cup after cup and the Esks as well. Now we're the joke of Canada. It isn't an easy time to be an Edmonton fan. If it helps build fuel to your fire I'm an 0-7 Bucs fan as well.

I hate when guys contracts get compared. Justifying one bad contract with another is insane. Yes we are paying Smid, N Schultz and Ference too much for what they are bringing to the table. In a couple years Erhoff will be making more than he's worth too. Erhoff does not solve our issues on D.

I acknowledged that it's not perfect form to do that.

But also I was making a broader point: Nearly every team in the league has a guy or two that's overpaid for what they're delivering. In that sense, doesn't Ehrhoff's contract look comparably better?

He may not be what the Oilers need, but I find it tough to say that a guy who plays number 1 minutes on any team and doesn't do so horribly is overpaid at 4m.
