Moulson is a unrestricted free agent at the end of this season.
So in essence , what we got for Vanek was a 1st rounder next year.
And a 2nd the following year.
I'm on the fence with this depending on where the Isles finish.

Which was the plan all along! Obviously you don't pay much attention. This helps push that along and we got more picks. It's a total rebuild its the plan. Have fun when you don't address your goaltending and barely make the playoffs (or miss them completely). Just saying

You never know, someone could have offered something ridiculous at the deadline, it's certainly happened before. I think this sets up Buffalo well for the deadline though. If Moulson plays well and they don't intend to or aren't able to sign him they can flip him for something else.

Vanek wanted out it was pretty evident. Him and Tavares could be deadly but without goaltending and below average D I don't see the Islanders makes a real push they will probably make the playoffs but that's about it
