12 games into the season and we are talking about where and who we will draft next year.

Nothing but you constantly rag on him for many reasons and you can rag on Myers for the same ones. Vanek brings a hell of a lot more to the team then Myers does.

Vanek is likely a rental though. For a rental of that caliber a first, second, and prospect is probably the going rate. Replace the prospect with Moulson and you're basically there. I'm making it sound like I think NYI got good value though. I don't.

I told ya that Moulson and a 1st was on the table last year for Vanek.....

Still figured some GM would blow his wad at the TDL and overpay with a 1st, decent roster player, and a blue chip prospect.

I suppose they might be able to get another 2nd rounder for Moulson.

With this deal so early might help push Miller out the door to one of the teams on his list.

My guess is Miller will want out and it might happen sooner than later as well. I don't think he would want to stick around for the total fire sale that's bound to happen

Tavares and vanek could be lethal if vanek is streaky like he was for buffalo...

But the draft picks are just amazing... if their goaltending conyinues to be this bad that 1st could be really nice.we have 3 2nd rd picks this year too

Buffalo fans don't know what they are talking about..the Islanders rebuild is over...now i's time to get back on trach for the playoffs...the team that got the best player got the best of the deal. Vanek is the best player...Islanders win this one...sorry...enjoy being a top 5 lottery pick Buffalo...

I don't think it was a great trade for the Islanders, either. No way Vanek is re-signing there, and they need serious help on D and in goal still.
